There is something no one have notice, that our AFCON drought started after beating Libya in 1982, suggesting that It was game Ghana shouldn't have won. In retrospect, we had the PNDC government and revolution at that time in which the Libyians were helping us, we went to Libya, the host nation and disgrace them with our win. This is what I believed had brought the curse on Ghana. Good news is that after 31 years later, which was last year Ghana met Libya in the local AFCON finals similar to the 1982 final and we lost, that lost had broken the jinx or curse. I strongly believed that Ghana will win the next AFCON cup because we paid what we owe to the Libyians from 1982 final last year.

Kwesi Nyantakyi is about chop chop chop and hiding behind World Cup qualification which we don't need brains to know that we will make since we are the powerhouse of African football.

These are my observations as to why ghana has failed to win the a con for the fifth time.
First,most of the other countries are also upgrading their teams.in those days when ghana won four times,the preparation of the other countries was not encouraging so ghana was not facing enough competition.
Secondly,people at the gfa,forces their favorite on the coaches and that should stop.
Thirdly,ghana don't have a system whereby,there are pool of players being groomed,to take over or step in when the need arises.
Fourth,players don't take their time to fully mature and they rush into signing contracts abroad.if they end up being bench warmers then they end up playing in the 2nd or 3rd divisions
Fifth,most of the players are unpatriotic.when they are playing with their clubs,their performances are so higher than when playing for ghana.
The blame goes to gfa. its like when you play for your club and you are injured,the club takes care of you but when you are playing for ghana and gets injured,you are on your own.
six,because ghana rely on professional,the duration for camping or playing together is not there.that affects team work.the more they practice,the more they become perfect.
the best team I have cherished to date is,the team that played the multi system type of football.

You are correct. The major problem is a shaky GFA. Your point about players rushing to Europe for money and sitting on the bench is probably the biggest problem. These players would be better off locally or in South Africa ...

5 REASONS GH HASN'T WON AFCON TROPHY
1. Square pegs in round holes: if you take foreign based/non African based players to afcon. And take ghana, African based players to wcup tournaments. What will happen?
Fail! The nations who have won the afcon trophy in the last decade alone have shown that you youndont need to take sand to the beach..surprisingly, ghanaians think they know better. Still making stupid mistakes!
2. Take bribes to field players to national team: Who do you think you are hurting/fooling? Players must prove.themselves with their clubs before they are called to the national team, not vice versa! When you bring in bench warmers, non active players becos they paid bribes or have influential persons at the gfa influencing their call ups. What do you expect? Don't blame juju or the devil but your stupidity!
3. Inexperienced, foreign coaches won't help you win an afcon trophy. The proof is in the pudding. Every foreign coach who won afcon trophy has had considerable african soccer experience on the continent. So many foreign/non African coaches have underestimated afcon tournament, the terrain, the level of competition etc. Like napoleon, they found out the hard way. Plavi, Milo, dujkovic etc, and now grant will be added to the list muahahahahaaaaaaa
4. You can't win any major tournament if you don't have skillful and experienced players. When you drop skillful, experienced players like mensah of portugal, antwi of egypt, yiadom, essien, Muntari, painstil, manu another very skillful kid. You are shooting yourself in the foot!
5. Results = Reward: when the gfa says: win, lose or.draw. You will get $5,000 per.game. There is no incentive to achieve success.

So if Ghana wants to win afcon. Then correct these mistakes
