Before him, teachers and low to middle class could win primaries to become MPs. Now, the poor cannot even venture, paving ways to massive corruption. Even before Konfuor Kuffour, parties didn't have to elect Northerners as vice presidents. People were chosen based on their pure competence.

Rawlings chose a Fante Harvard trained professional, and then Mills as Vices. Kuffour brought all this tribal nonsense in choosing, not only a vice from the north for votes, but forcefully a Moslem.

What kind of nonsense is that? People need to be given opportunities based on their competencies, not the size of their pockets or their tribes. Kuffour has been Ghanas biggest problem.

The fact that Mr. Portuphy's image showing on the bottle does not make any sense for the party's electoral committee to ask security personnel to prevent delegates from drinking it. What kind of absurdity is this?

Will it be the interest of the party's electoral committee if a delegate dehydrates all of a sudden and pass out? Why do we think backwards all the time? A bottle of water buying someone's vote? Unbelievable!. E&OE.

If not please allow them to drink whatever water with whoever's face embossed. It only shows that fellow cares. This is a common practice at political congresses when candidates supply food, water and other items to delegates and to distinguish who supplied what, names and sometimes fotos are embossed on them.

Concerned, in business, it's absolutely true that advertising plays major role in new products as well as making a change of old advertisement. This is politics where people are seeking political office to stear the country's future for our grandchildren and if a mini bottle of water can change a delegate's mind, then we do have a problem and we are infants in political discourse. Anyway it will not surprise me to hear your comment because people vote by someone's look, height, wight, tribal lines, a peanut dole out of rice, sardines and party fanaticism.
