Abedi was also a great player in Europe . His playmates Deschamp, Rudi Voller etc are FIFA recognized trainers but these two and Tony Yeboah are noise makers in Ghana.

You're making a very important and salient observation that should prick the conscience of sportsmen and women, administrators and fans if we really care about sports development in Ghana.
Tony Yeboah, Abedi "Pele" Ayew and Sammy Kuffuor, all football legends and household names made it very big at the world stage but sad to say that when their playing days came to an end so did their entire sporting life plummet. The reason may not be far fetched and can continue to plague future great players from Ghana if remedial steps are not taken.
When women hit their natural menopause phase of life they don't cease to be women. They continue among other things as personal trainers, mentoring other people's children and positively influencing society.
I believe education or the lack of it is at the root of the menopause years of our leading sports men and women. We don't have a well oiled sports development policy for our schools and colleges. Most of our sportsmen, especially footballers, are early school drop outs. They're half breeds who hardly make any impact. Some few make it all the way to pinnacle of the footballers world only to drop like a ton of bricks to oblivion.
In the US and other developed nations more than 70 per cent of their elite sports men and women come out of college. Some leave the sporting world at the prime of life and still manage to have a successful practice as business executives, medical practitioners, engineers, sports coaches and administrators, etc.
Many Ghanaians are sports freaks and would prefer to see their sports heroes especially footballers continue to make an impact as trainers, coaches, administrators, etc, after the end of their active playing career.
The solution lies in learning to put our money where our mouth is. Consider the huge amount of money stolen or misappropriated yearly by politicians that can go a long way to finance not just education from the basic to college level but also invest in a great sports development program in our schools. This way the sportsmen and women produced out of our schools will have an endearing and enduring sports life and legacy as they contribute to sports development and promotion in our beloved nation.

Is it your view or understanding that all the excellent students you met along your education ladder ended up being teachers or lecturers? Do a little research and you'll find out that there are a whole lot of excellent retired players out there who never ventured into coaching simply because it is not their cup of tea.
You just hate to hear that your fellow countryman succeeded in his chosen field.

One day a man went to an auction. While there, he bid on a parrot. He really wanted this bird, so he got caught up in the bidding. He kept on bidding, but kept getting outbid, so he bid higher and higher and higher.
Finally, after he bid way more than he intended, he won the bid - the parrot was his at last!
As he was paying for the parrot, he said to the Auctioneer, "I sure hope this parrot can talk. I would hate to have paid this much for it, only to find out that he can't talk!"
"Don't worry." said the Auctioneer, "He can talk. Who do you think kept bidding against you?"

The writer needs to research well. Do not try to rewrite what is known, those days are gone. those were the days when europeans wrote the history of Africans. Kofi Annan is not from Kumasi. he is from Central Region.
