How many of these politicians and well to do Ghanaians actually send their kids to Ghanaian universities? Even JJ failed to educate his children in Ghana. Ablakwa don't kid yourself, many of the students from countries you mentioned, other than perhaps the Nigerians don't graduate there, they are there on exchange programs for the experience and cheap credits. Dumb Nigerians who can't get into their own top universities come to Ghana and besides educating their kids in Ghana is a bargain. Agreed that a place like Ashesi is competitive, but the rest of them don't meet international standards. Degrees have been cheapened in Ghana.

Foreign students have been coming to study in Ghana since our post-independence era. It is not a recent phenomenon.
Clearly, Ablakwa's position is not supported by the facts. He should go into the records from 1957 to date, and he would realize that, foreign students have always been a part of our educational system.
Our system was good in times past. The situation is not the same in recent times.
The standards of education from the basic, right to the tertiary level under the NDC gov't has been deteriorating and declining, and that is a fact. The quality factor is not there, the access is not there and these are not matters to be glossed over and toyed with on the altar of mendacity.
It's very important that, the needed competence, focus and drive is brought to bear on our educational sector, shunning completely the issues of propaganda, in seeking to create an educated and informed citizenry tuned to the needed engagements scientifically, technologically, economically, socially, politically based on intelligence to bring about the needed changes in our development paradigm.
Ablakwa just talking off of his head, not even based on the facts, does not address this paradox, and therein lies some of the challenges.
