They saw that the driver didn't collect the receipt ,followed the driver and when the driver confirmed he did not collect receipt they came back to arrest the individual.
No crime is small but that one was not a smart one,they should have waited to see the person put the money in his pocket before making arrest.

I am sorry, Daniel Batidam. The President was trying to make the point that he is trying people for various corrupt practices to debunk the perception that his government is not doing anything about corruption. So why will he be mentioning corrupt cases which he did not initiate to back this?
Alternatively, give us the background into the statement he made and let us see why the President is making an inventory of cases in court. I don't think you should be defending this, unless of course you were a hungry person.

You still have many years to live and I am sorry if you don't change you will live the rest of your life is TOTAL shun, shame and disgrace no matter how much money you will be able to make or still now. Clearly the president felt the need to engage in propaganda to deflect the charge that he was not doing enough to fight corruption because he is himself corrupt. There is no where the so-called 300 cases could have been quoted or taken out of context. Mahama has no credibility left. He dabbles in propaganda all the time, and when he is caught lying, the so-called presidential staffers will run to plant excuses for him. You guys are pitiful and shameful. Shame!

Everybody in the NDC tries to properly interpret what the president says. But nobody tries to go to the bottom of the issues the president mis-presents. If the president had not come out to mention the figure 300, the media would never had known that 300 people were currently being prosecuted in our courts. The same source from where the president got this information about the 300 criminals should be able to present the president with the names of the people who are being prosecuted.
If this Batidam guy knows his job, he must contact the prison authorities for the information the people wish to know. Otherwise he must shut up and allow the president to keep on propagating these lies whenever he is in a difficult situation. We have come to the realisation that this is all our president has been doing all these years, so we no longer bother to listen to any of his public pronouncements. We all made a big mistake!!

Earlier this year President Mahama was in Brussels, the EU headquarters, cup in hand asking the European authorities to release the £135 million withhold cash, but nothing came out of it.

Now it has come out that the delay in releasing the money was as a result of corruption, resulting from massive payroll fraud.

Government blamed the Single Spine Pay Policy but it has turned out that over 20% of the names on the payroll are 'ghosts' created by the administration ostensibly to reward party activists.

The all-powerful European Parliament - the legislative arm of the EU - was last week informed about what the Sunday Times described as "potential irregularities and mismanagement" claims which the anti-fraud agency is already probing.

The Sunday Times reports that "according to estimates, more than 1% of Ghana's GDP - several hundred million pounds - was spent on 'ghost workers' last year."

The paper reveals further that estimates put the percentage of fictitious workers at beyond 20% of the workforce.

The potential abuse of EU aid by those at the helm of affairs in Ghana, the newspaper maintains, is an apt indication that UK funds distributed by the Department for International Development (DfID) could suffer a similar fate.
