The Dutch should come to take over agriculture. After 57 years of independence we still cannot feed ourselves and have to import even basic staples like corn and rice. Our farmers can never ever produce enough for the nation. If they were given all the money, inputs etc. they still could not do it. We just do not have the expertise nor the vast investment funds to cultivate and run vast agricultural lands. The recent farmer of the year who is a huge farmer in Ghana is but a small farmer everywhere else. Please, Netherlands, do come.

Our farmers produce enough, sometimes even more. The neglected problem is the transportation of the crops to the urban markets.
The Taste for rice and other foreign foodstuffs is not just because there isn't enough maize for the production of Kenkey. We feel inferior to eat "face the wall" instead of fried rice.
We prefer paper packaged tomatoes subsidised by European governments and dumped on to our markets, to fresh ones produced by our own farmers. Some of us feel "elevated" when they eat frozen chicken wings from Brazil, instead of locally reared roosters.
But these are not the faults of local farmers.
Believe me, our governments will accord the foreign Farmers all the respect and assistance being denied indigenous farmers today

Most Ghanaian businessmen are simply lazy, unimaginative, don't believe in paying for innovative ideas, like fronting, like quick money and would rather political entrepreneurship. So what is wrong with the Dutch chasing the agrofood industry. They need food. Europe needs food. Food is more precious than oil. But Ghana doesn't believe in long term strategy for growth, what to prioritize and what are low hanging fruits. Stealing, corruption, cheap money, lying are the best of traits.

The European cattle rearer who starts his farming on equal levels as his Fulani counterpart, will within a few years prove more successful, because he knows, and PROVIDES the animals what they need to grow.

Knowing Africans well by now, they will welcome the Dutch to come and invest and develope the agriculture sector. Once its profitable, the Ghanians will start to protest that the white man has come and stolen the best farming land in Ghana and find an excuse to kick them out. Once the whites has been kicked and the lands is once again into local hands, the production will go back to 0 in a few years and what do we get?? T.I.A
