Both Sydney and Franklin know what they are talking about. They do it all the time. Otherwise how can discredited IMANI be on the air all the time with shallow analysis?

A lot of people organise events for one reason or the other which needs to be broadcasted.
Most of these journalists especially from the private sector are very poor and have to make ends meet. They sometimes have to "kak dee" to these events on empty stomachs. There is nothing wrong in refunding their transport fare to them to cover your event and giving them something for roasted plantain and groundnut on their way back to the office . Otherwise before he gets to the office to put his report together he would be dead from hunger.
Those who are the soli crooks are the ones from media houses like Daily Graphic who despite being remunerated handsomely with pensions still take soli to publish what they are already being paid to publish.

I wonder why Ghanaians are worrying themselves into finding out who exactly brought this soli menace into the country? Military governments did not encourage it until mr documents and co got the chance in 2000. Mr documents and colleaques are now swimming in riches because of soli. The younger journalists of today also want to follow the lifestyles of mr documents and friends. This was the beginning of soli in Ghana. It will take a long time to kill this decease in our current journalists but Ghanaians should know the pioneers of this menace. The British high commissioner has today turned this bad habit into a joke. I will not be surprise to hear "Soli" being used as a joke in the House of Commons in UK one day!

Mr atiega I quite agree with you. Soli has seriously corrupted our journalists in such a way that their reportage on events had turned into politics. They had used the influence of soli to whitewash dirty deals of their pay masters, especially those in the elephant family. Soli has created a very big problem for mother Ghana. Because of soli some journalists who were school drop outs disturb our ears on radio and tv stations with bad English language and yet the corrupt politicians don't care what this bad English language can affect the youth of the country in future.

Even with the bad publicity, the guy keeps coming in the news - meaning he has been paying the journalists to report his "bad publicity" as it attracts attention.

IMANI seems to enjoy being anti-the-incumbent-Government. It seems to be solidifying its credentials as a staunch opponent to President Mahama's Administration. If that is the goal of that NGO, then it seems to be doing well at it.
However, it may well go to hurt its credibility as an NGO seeking to investigate, monitor and disseminate objective facts about the Nation. Citing Adom Otchere alone among all the Journalists who take 'Soli' shows a certain bias by IMANI. If we would be honest, 'Soli' is paid to Journalists working for both sides of the Aisle.
I would be furious, too, if I were Adom. Casely-Hayford, we all know is an avowed opponent of the NDC and Mahama and Rawlings and all that is not NPP. That, to me, makes him safe within his rights to attack Mahama's Administration.
As an individual, Casely-Hayford reserves the right to attack anyone he hates for personal or other reasons, even though his behavior may not be pleasant to most folks. But an NGO like IMANI, unless it was set up with the sole goal of undermining an incumbent Administration, ought to be careful in how it gets on the Administration's case without decorum. Tact matters in NGOs' dealings with a Government.
