The mere fact that Bagabaga College of Education was established in 1944, and was one of the oldest educational institutions in northern Ghana, disproves the myth being peddled around that Nkrumah introduced Education into the North. In fact, Western Education had been introduced into the North long before Kwame Nkrumah became prime-minister of the Gold Coast.
Northern leaders like S.D Dombo, Jato Keleo, B.K Adama, Tolon Naa, Bawumia and many others might have even completed their education and started their careers long before Nkrumah was brought to the Cold Coast from UK to serve as General Secretary of the group fighting for our independence.
I was really disappointed to see Mr. Mahama plying dirty politics by honouring Nkrumah where he shouldn't be honoured because; Kwame Nkrumah didn't have anything to do with BAC. By his action, Mr. Mahama is deliberately perpetuating the myth being peddled around that Nkrumah civilized Northers by introducing Education to them.
Even the much talked about free education that Mr. Mahama himself enjoyed was initiated and put forward for adoption by S.D Dombo as a political bargain to accept the unitary state that was proposed by Nkrumah, and not an initiative by Nkrumah to educate and civilize Northern Ghanaians.

The various political parties should train their agents in collaboration with the EC/IPAC. This is what happens in developed countries whose democracy we are copying. Unfortunately, in Ghana, we want everything free, No effort on our part, except to scream when things don't go our way. Party member have no stake in the parties because few of them pay dues. No wonder a few politicians use the masses to advance their own selfish interest. The few who finance the parties end up with all the contracts as payback.

These guys from IDEG. Have they really involve themselves in election before or they are like toilet cleaners who knows nothing that happens in Ghana. EC always train polling agents of all political parties before election day. After that political parties train their polling agents further. So why this going about the bush proposal. All your proposals are in place so why this noise. I have always say those who complained about election 2012 are those who have never involve themselves election from at least 1992 or just want to be diabolical like the third class legon graduate with dubious law certificate.

A perfect call ! How could EC throw our lifes away mismanaging elections the vital source of our democracy. If there is one thing that must have the full glory and competency in this country , that shall be a 100% ultra management of the election process ! The fact of having an electoral commission with laymen produces Zongo fake presidents who renders every development impossible and annoints dear ghana with corruption parfumes. EC with AFARI- GYAN plays the game of illegible frontmen who are not the people's choice ! Hope a future new and selfless patrotic management learn their lessons to cooperate with competency codes and drive away those who have made it possible to incurr our present hardships . The independence of the EC must be total without any influnce by a sitting fake government !

Political parties are supposed to train their agents. The government cannot do everything for us.
What do we expect when a political party spends all their time demonstrating against the government instead of taking steps to have qualified agents represent them in the polling booths? This is exactly what the NPP did in the last elections. While other parties were training their agents, the NPP was wasting their time on irrelevant things and had to rush in the eleventh hour to gather uneducated macho men to act as their polling agents.
Because of lack of education, most of their agents did not know what was going on at the polling stations. They could not fill out forms that made any sense.

It is wrong for the EC to select electoral officers outside the teaching profession. This is what is done in all civilised democracies. The reason is obvious. They are literate enough to understand the rules of the electoral process and eliminate any probability of biased selection. Teachers are also aware of their professionalism and integrity expected of them. They are also available in corners of the country and live in proximity to the electrical centres. What better human logistics do you need for to select for electoral officers than teachers? To select electoral officers outside the teaching profession smells something fishy.
The minority parties should not allow this abnormally to continue if the EC has not reverted to the normal system where teachers supervise as electoral officers. This is one area minority need to insist for implementation for elections for all Ghanaians to trust the electoral system.
