"The drug barons are currently targeting Ghana making us a vulnerable nation hence we must toughen our national security at all our Airports. If Ms Ametefeh has been allegedly doing such manoeuvres since 2009 goodness knows how many of such people have used this method just because of their status in society as security around such people have been relaxed. No one can be trusted when it comes to such issues any more as our security is at stake. We should not even allow the VVIP section security to be relaxed so that unscrupulous people take advantage of such freedom afforded to them in the wake of this saga".

I agree with Justice Emile Short that the language used by GBA was inappropriate but at the same time, it is true that Afari Gyan's credibility was dented and the image of the Electoral Commission tarnished by what was revealed at the SC Presidential Petition hearing. If Afari Gyan could not define over-voting then why is he the Electoral Commissioner?
The GBA erred to have suggested the appointment of a new EC in advance when the existing one retires in 2015. That is against the constitution and it's sad that those who should be defending the constitution sought to undermine it. I hope they have learnt a lesson from this misguided and uncalled action.

As outrageous as your contribution sounds, is is one of the most insightful suggestions that has so far been made public on this on-going drugs saga.
With all my 'too known' street expertise on the drugs trade, this new possibility you have uncovered or disclosed, certainly escaped me - and I guess, all the other too known book-long experts who are also trying their damnedest best to make themselves gurus on the issue, as well.
You have a creative and imaginative mind. Keep it up and bring out more of such unsuggested possibilities.
Now that the fight between the NDC and the NPP, which is definitely not based on any kind of political credibility, but is largely focused on undermining each others sources of income to bribe the electorate with all manner of handouts to elect them into office in 2016, we can expect many more of such scandals to emerge in the months leading up to election 2016.

To Captain and all drug dealers in Ghana, No one has to tip off authorities overseas. They have dogs that would sniff the luggage as they come off the plane. Unlike Kotoka where anyone can carry a bag to a passenger aboard the plane. YOU WILL BE BUSTED if you have drugs in your luggage. As for this case, I believe she travelled on diplomatic passport because she believed that her carry-on would not be searched. But that would only happen if the Ghana High Commission had informed Heathrow that there is one of theirs on the plane, then she might be exempted. So, tell me, why was an embassy car waiting to pick up Nayele? This saga smells to high heavens. Drug dealing BASTARDS ruining the good name of Ghana.

SORRY SIR. IN THIS SPECIFIC CASE TIP-OFF IS THE ONLY WAY TO GO. NAYELE BEAT NACOB HANDS DOWN. IF NACOB WAS REALLY AWARE OF NAYELE'S ACTIVITIES BUT COULD NOT TOUCH HER BECAUSE ITS HANDS WERE TIED AS AKRASI SARPONG WANTS US TO BELIEVE, TIPPING-OFF PARTNERS AT HER DESTINATION IS THE ANSWER. WHO IS THE LOCAL AGENT OF OUR BRITISH PARTNERS THAT NACOB COLLABORATED WITH IN ACCCRA HERE ON THE NIGHT OF NOV 9? GYIMAH HAS A RIGHT TO FEEL PEEVED THAT HE WAS NOT CONSULTED BEFORE DISSOLUTION OF HIS BOARD. BUT HE SHOULD BE CAREFUL NOT TO LOSE HIS BALANCE. IF NACOB DOES NOT CONTROL THE SCANNERS AT KOTOKA DOES THAT NECESSARILY MEAN THAT IT HAS BEEN DENIED A SEAT NEAR THEM? AND WHERE IS/ARE THE RECOMMENDATIONS FROM THE NACOB BOARD ASKING THAT NACOB GET ITS OWN SCANNERS, IF THAT IS THE IN-THING? BRITISH HIGHCOM DID NOT ISSUE ITS STATEMENT IN A VACUUM. IT WAS REACTING TO AN EDITORIAL OF THE GHANAIAN CHRONICLE OF NOV 20 THAT ACCUSED THE BRITISH OF DISDAINING THE GHANA POLICE AND OUR JUDICIARY THAT IS WHY THEY DID NOT PERMIT NACOB TO ARREST NAYELE HERE ON NOV 9. AND THE STATEMENT DID ADMIT WE HAVE BEEN COLLABORATING SINCE 2006 BUT THAT ON NOV 9, NACOB SHAMEFULLY WENT TO SLEEP ON DUTY. THAT SLEEPING ON DUTY LEADING TO SUCH EMBARRASSMENT OF MOTHER GHANA, IS ENOUGH REASON FOR DISSOLUTION OF THE NACOB BOARD AND PRESIDENT MAHAMA SHOULD BE COMMENDED FOR RISING UP TO THE OCCASION.

Floating voter, the totality of your contribution is completely off-side. In fact some of the points you raise are glaring fouls that cannot be allowed to go free without showing you a red-card.
For me, whether the British collaborated with Ghanaian intelligence officials or not is an insignificant issue. Not only do they hardly ever honor other agreements we have with them but they actually undermine such agreements, so why bother?
Secondly, for the British High Commission to get uncharacteristically and overly excited about this matter and allow itself to get embroiled in it to its lowest depths, thereby drawing antagonistic verbal assault upon themselves from sections of the public, gives me renewed comfort that notorious Ghanaian diplomats and missions are after-all not all that bad.
Thirdly but definitely not the least, NACOB is only just an anti-drugs agency. It does not represent the entire security network operations of Ghana. It is not in charge of airport security and if I am right, it is not in charge of the VIP nor the VVIP lounges at the airport. You cannot therefore claim that they went to sleep on the day this brouhaha occurred.

A blind man walks into a restaurant and sits down. The waiter, who is also the owner, walks up to the blind man and hands him a menu. "I’m sorry, sir, but I am blind and can’t read the menu. Just bring me a dirty fork from a previous customer. I’ll smell it and order from there." A little confused, the owner walks over to the dirty dish pile and picks up a greasy fork. He returns to the blind man’s table and hands it to him. The blind man puts the fork to his nose and takes in a deep breath. "Ah, yes, that’s what I’ll have -- goat meat and plantain Fufu." Unbelievable, the owner thinks as he walks towards the kitchen. The cook happens to be the owner’s wife. He tells her what had just happened. The blind man eats his meal and leaves. Several days later, the blind man returns and the owner mistakenly brings him a menu again. "Sir, remember me? I’m the blind man." "I’m sorry, I didn’t recognize you. I’ll go get you a dirty fork."
The owner retrieves a dirty fork and brings it to the blind man. After another deep breath, the blind man says, "That smells great. I’ll take the Rice and Beans with Fish stew." Walking away in disbelief, the owner thinks the blind man is screwing around with him and tells his wife that the next time the blind man comes in he’s going to test him. The blind man eats and leaves. He returns the following week, but this time the owner sees him coming and runs to the kitchen. He tells his wife, "Ruby, rub this fork on your panties before I take it to the blind man." Ruby complies and hands her husband the fork. As the blind man walks in and sits down, the owner is ready and waiting. "Good afternoon, sir, this time I remembered you and I already have the fork ready for you." The blind man puts the fork to his nose, takes a deep whiff, and says, "Hey I didn't know that Ruby worked here..."
