    It has been there for a long time. Even some kids at JHS smoke it. If an adult does it, I don't care but not kids. There should be a concerted effort by society in general to check this menace.

    No western nation will simply jail anyone for publicly smoking weed..you confiscate the substance and issue a fine, ticket. This is at best a misdemeanor. Not a 2week jail sentence

    The guy will return on two weeks for his sentence. I think they are making a statement. Here in the USA, it is still illegal in some states and the Feds will still put you in jail.
