This guy is a complete waste in parliament. Ghana's parliamentary debates are very poor. I do not really see what they do there if this is the kind of talk you can get from a legislator. It is a shame.

Mr. Mahama is exactly one of the visionless African leaders that have always been accused of misplacing their priorities. Does the NDC government think, despite the massive corruption, they can borrow recklessly and spend their way foolishly into another mandate after 2016, when the nation is over burdened with HIPC and workers wallowing in hunger and over taxed?

Governance under the NDC is all about deceit and 'opium of the people'. They enjoy everything under the sun and ask us to wait for our basic needs in heaven. They even didn't respect our intelligence when they asked us to wait for a paradise in three more years after their mandate. The truth is that, everything they promise is a mirage and we will never find comfort with them because; they are conmen with con plans.

They tax their people and give the money to you and you get fat salary just to spew this gabbage. Taxing system in Ghana is very weak compared to those countries we want to compete or get to in develpment. You can speak of the usage of the tax but you cannot always speak against taxing. This kind of politics will not get you any where. We are always looking for loan using our few reserves for colllateral instead of taxing and using the taxes paid well we will not. You want to develop with such attitude.

The MP must know that in the UK where he had his post graduate education, prostitutes pay tax on their earnings.
Our concern must be paying the taxes and ensuring that they are used for the purpose for which they are collected. Singapore is what it is today because of tax and indeed it includes sex tax.
If we do not pay tax, how do we get the money to develop our country?

Do we have any standard to measure the performance of government in this country? The standard I know is that the people want improved living conditions. The Constitution stipulates the maximization of economic conditions by those who manage the economy. The Direct Principle of State Policy has set the standard for measuring the performance of governments who are given the task to manage the economy.
Unfortunately, the NDC want to measure their performance to that of the NPP because anytime a member of the NPP mentions something about the NDC which may be the fact and the NDC consider a blot on their performance, the NDC refer to a similar thing done by the NPP in the past as a defense. The problem of the NDC is that the NPP is their major competitor and as much as power is concerned, the NPP should not replace them in government.
I am yet to sight in the Constitution that we vote for party as president and we are to be governed by a party. Political parties only sponsor candidates to contest for presidency and we don’t vote for party to govern the country. The truth is that the style of leadership of the late President Mills is different from that of President Mahama. These two personalities belong to the same party but they are different in their style of running the affairs of the country. It is possible that the style of Mr Akufo Addo will be different from former President Kufour.
The people of Ghana need to see beyond what the politicians want us to believe. We should not allow ourselves to kept in a box and manipulated anyhow. NO. It is important to be discussing the qualities of individuals and not political parties. Akufo addo can decide to use brains which may not necessarily be registered members of the NPP but very good to assist in the development of the country. We should resist this narrow comparisons being done by the NDC.
