the formation of these pledge clubs is very laudable and would go a long way to help address the endless cycle of blood shortages in the respective blood banks. l however have a difficulty looking at the attitude of health officials failure to come into grip with the reality on the ground. we've all along played the ostrich concerning the sale of blood to patients who badly need them to survive. which of these options is more reasonable: sell a pint of blood to a patient say at 50ghana, where it would readily and always be available to all or where we pretend its not for sale yet some unscrupulous health officials would sell it backdoor at over 100gh.? well, l leave it for further debate.
what l however propose is to simply incentivised donors with say, a hot beverage of milo, a slice of bread and fried egg which l believe would be less than 5gh plus 20gh to take home. this l believe will undoubtedly create a glut in our blood banks and drastically reduced to the bearest minimum the often times needless lost of lives that always occurs at our health institutions because once this incentive is put in place people from all manner of life once they meet the criteria for donating could readily walk into a health center and donate knowing very well that at least he or she would certainly earn an equivalent of a daily wage. may we even ask how many such qualified donors earn 20gh a day?. this l believe will cut down to the needless blackmarketering of blood in our bloodbanks and save more lives.

"Wow," says the man, "I'm going up to donate sperm, and the sperm bank pays $100." The woman angrily gets off the elevator.
The next day, the man and woman meet in the elevator again.
"Fancy meeting you again. Where you off to today?"
"Sperm bank," she says with her mouth full.
