Those guilty of corrupt offenses must be giving long jail terms, if found guilty, to send the appropriate signal to all such criminals in the system. I think Rawlings would have sent them to their graves in the PNDC era without trial. This bunch of criminals did not go to school only to become crooks, economic saboteurs and nation wreckers looting the coffers of this struggling nation. The biggest developmental challenge this country faces is how to uproot self-serving criminals, vampires and nation wreckers masquerading as civil servants in the system.

The police barrier after the airport junction in Tamale is one corrupt place where officers tasked Burkinabe drivers every day. IGP, act now.

The former IGP Mr CK Dewornu has admited corruption in the Police Force only with sugar cquoted words with his altimate aim of not bruising the Police force, but by doing so,does not help the Police from stoping the menace which has bedevilled the Institution for decades. There is no police officer in Ghana or Africa who can put his hands in the hot fire to deny the fact that he has never taken bribe before. In Ghana they practice it with impunity wthout having their consciences pricked with guilt to alter dismay of helpless onlookers. This kind of deplomatic statement by the formerIGP Mr Dewornu any how, does not help a corrupt institution like the police to wean off itself from the position it finds itself yoked with the shackles of shameless practice of bribe taking in all its levels in our country.

The problem with all these police people - both retired and serving - is that they are never prepared to tell the truth. Mr. Dewornu very well knows that the corruption in the Police, especially now, is not the work of "a few ones may go off the track who misconduct themselves". It is rather the whole bunch of them and the practice starts right from recruitment.
It is common knowledge that applicants pay specified sums of money to be recruited.

On daily basis Police storm the street at dawn just to collect money from trotro and taxi drivers.
This is the most shameful thing ever to happen to the police service.Everybody knows it.They do it openly and glaringly to the seeing eyes of the general public. What a disgrace!!
ACP Kofi Boakye cannot claim he is not aware of this shameful practice. The Ashanti Regional Minister cannot also claim he is not aware of this ROBBERY by the police.
It is not too late to arrest these Police personnel including women to dismiss them from the service.
Go to Manhyia Hospital street near the Asantehene's Palace, they stand there to extort money.
Go to Prempeh ASSEMBLY main street leading to the Rex Cinema.
Go to Aboabo Junction, they stand there every morning to rob commercial drivers.
Go to Akwatialine 19 steps, the Police stand there at dawn to collect money from commercial drivers.Go to Bompata at Fanti Newtown.
Not until ACP kofi Boakye is able to stop this disgraceful behaviour being perpetrated by the Police, nobody will take him serious.
STOP the police personnel in Kumasi from this shameful and unpardonable behaviuor. We are watching.
