Who is playing politics here? Is it the unions or the government? If the unions could reject the government trustee and come up with opposition's trustee. All these agitations in the country tell something that country has been divided all because of politics. Nowadays in Ghana, even children are doing politics all because of the opposition. Instead of pushing the government to do it's job, they're frustrating the government not to do it's job. The mindset that if sitting party failed, my party will win an election, has to stop because it's hurting the country so bad.

We had eight years of NPP government and times were certainly better for us than we have found ourselves in under the six years of GYEEDA,SUBAH,SADA,NSS and least of all Woyome stealling from us a whopping fifty one million.
The NDC and its head corruptible Mahama must give way to the NPP.
At least if I am poor but the sacrifice is giving all children in Ghana some free education then my sacrifice is worth it.

The attempt to bring partisanship into this matter, to clearly obfuscate the issues, which is that the Mahama NDC gov't has looted the tier-two pension funds and needs to return it, to be transferred to the workers scheme and fund managers of workers choice, would not fly.

This is a special field and unfortunately you wouldn't understand the area hence the solution you seem to want to come up with. What's is almost criminal is for an ex- Board Chairman of SSNIT and Board Chairman of NPRA to form a company - Pensions Alliance and within months of its establishment are given workers monies to invest over proven investment firms all because of party color. If that's the criteria why don't you identify workers contributions by party colors and invest with NDC or NPP or CPP depending on where you choose to go? Anybody making such pronouncements and anyone supporting such must have their heads examined or be given a lobotomy.

This is what is bound to happen when you make fresh graduates from school ministers of state. They always 'think' like school boys.
Ghana is in a mess because of the calibre of ministers we have in this country. They had no life experiences, and did not owned even a bicycle before being appointed ministers. They think that the appointments given to them is an opportunity to loot from the state coffers for their future survival.
In fact if this is how democracy works, then we don't need it in any developing country. Political parties in Ghana are a bunch of criminals and vampire bats who have come together for the sole purpose of seeking legitimacy to loot and share from state coffers.
If this is the way politicians are going to loot from state coffers, the armed robbers would be justified if they attack politicians and loot from their loot. Those who are looting must be looted. The robbers should hence forth attack the political appointees, and make a living out of them, because they are all criminals.
The reason given by Haruna Idrissu, that the tier two pension fund would finally land in the bosom of the NPP to be used for 2016 political campaign is infantile, and unacceptable. Where is the money collected so far? Has the NDC government not used the money to finance its political activities? It is for the same reason that the NDC fears the opposition parties would do likewise if the money is within their reach. This type of musical chess game must stop forthwith.
Else I will advise the military, who have also forgotten how to stage coups, to revise their notes, and save this country from total collapse.
The tier two pension fund should not be politicized, and the NDC government must release the money now, because it not for the government. It is the contributors who must indicate who should manage the funds, and not the government.

Man is a political animal, because man is conscious, thus anything he does correspond to his social upbringing, world outlook and trends in society. All human beings are political and that is what enable them to differentiate between the wrong and bad, chose their political organizations, such as the church and even an occupation.
What is going on currently is that the union executives in the public sector want some money to chop in addition to union dues that their members pay to them. Their aim is to collect the 5% administration fees that will be charged on the interest that the 2nd tier will be gaining and add it to the dues that they collect from their members. When they misuse the accounts they will then agitate their members to collect the second tier even before they go on retirement. By so doing they will muddy the water so much that their members will not even realize that they chop their money because they will put the blame on the government, with fairy tales that some of their gullible members will accept.
Let me ask public workers why are their union executives not fighting to institute the third tier system in the public service.
Workers in public service need to go themselves on the net to learn a lot about the second and their tier system so as not to be mislead, that the second tier will end up as the end-of-service benefits.
When I resigned from the civil service the welfare management in my department refused to refund my contributions to me, even without any interest that I did not give notice in time. However the labour laws of this country state that any party to an agreement reverse the right to terminate any contract at the close of day by paying the other party in-lieu-of notice. In the civil service that notice is one month's notice.
