Why did it take this guy that long to realize that our Natural Resources have been under siege and only a few selfish leaders and their cronies have been enjoying from them?

Didn't he realize that such was the case with the Galamsey and illegal Timber extraction going on in his backyard? He might be the Paramount Chief of Akyem Abuakwa, but he is no king, and does not own all the lands in his traditional area.

Someone has to remind him that even the Royalties he receives from various formally licensed exploitation in his area belongs to the entire citizenry, especially the families that directly own the land where the extraction is undertaken. When was the last time he shared any of the Royalties with the proper owners of the land and why has he not used some of the Royalties in developing the area, including refurbishing roads, etc., instead of waiting for the Government to do all for the area?

People must understand that our Chiefs are not absolute Monarchs who own every Natural asset in their areas. We should therefore begin to demand accountability from the Chiefs on all Royalties they receive on our Natural Resources.

However, I am sorry to disappoint you all but it is not the theiving Ghanaian who is enjoying your resources but the Westerners who are enjoying it. $9.5 to foreigners and only $2.4 billion to Ghana of the oil money? You Ghanaians have to stop being so foolish and allowing foreigners to take your money. No Western government will take less than than 30% from any company. Yet Ghana only takes 4% for gold and 10% for oil. Wake up and agitate for a better deal with foreigners and stop blaming each other. If your leaders are to deferent to whites to negotiate as equals hire other blacks who are used to negotiating with them to help you.

The Okyehene should know since him, along with a bunch of classroom educated but ignorant soul mates the likes of Dr. Kwame Okoampa-Ahoofe, Sir John, Ken Ofori-Atta, and Dr. Akadu Mensama etc think God's distribution of intellect are based on a Kyebi yardstick.

Since 1966 the people who have held on to money through government jobs, continued to amass wealth through government largess without work, sought secondary school and university placements for their wards even as equity and fairness in society is destroyed to keep them happy have been the NPP and NDC leadership of yesteryear and today. It is not with love for Ghana that the Okyehene and his dishonest kind illegitimately try to rewrite Ghana's history for their dumb and dumber followers. I am old enough to know about the history of Ghana as it happened and read enough to know the difference between the nonsense the Okyehene, Okoampa-Ahoofe and others put out as historical research into the Nkrumah era.

The Okyehene, Okoampa and others have never seen a historical account of the British listing their brutality and crimes against humanity they visited upon their subject in Ghana and elsewhere neither has anyone seen and read the US version of their roles prior to the 1966 coup in Ghana. All the write-up by people claiming to have the truth in their corner has come by incomplete literature reviews and conjecture. If the Okyehene is any wise he would know to take the lead in the development within his community without reliance/counting on the national government he harbors much disdain for. For it takes people with wisdom derived from God's guidance and not the tribal misogyny that prevails in Ghana and the very simple-minded approach by our so-called political and intellectual elite class.
