When you call your fellow man rat; who will believe your words?
It is brave of him to be part of government and yet ask this question. If you do not want Ghanaians to know the figure when we pay for it, then you may be have enjoyed something out of this bad job. Or you are being paid to write these things in defense of Doe Adjaho.
We want parliamentarians who put Ghanaians first and not their party. At the moment, it seems that is what he id doing and he must be commended.

It would appear that those in control of the NDC, for the time being, were bent on excluding other bona fide members of the Party who may wish to lay democratic claims to who becomes the next flag bearer of the Party by excluding them even before the mortal remains of the demised President were interred. It is also symptomatic of how political party elites in Ghana and Africa worm their way into the confidences of persons perceived as likely to ascend to power positions for purposes of eventual personal economic gain at the expense of the generality of the mass of Party members and the Nation which every President swears to serve under the Constitution

I agree with Justice Emile Short that the language used by GBA was inappropriate but at the same time, it is true that Afari Gyan's credibility was dented and the image of the Electoral Commission tarnished by what was revealed at the SC Presidential Petition hearing. If Afari Gyan could not define over-voting then why is he the Electoral Commissioner?
The GBA erred to have suggested the appointment of a new EC in advance when the existing one retires in 2015. That is against the constitution and it's sad that those who should be defending the constitution sought to undermine it. I hope they have learnt a lesson from this misguided and uncalled action.

That has been the modus operandi of you guys: always giving half truths instead of coming out clean.
It beats everybody's understanding that despite all the hullabaloo going out about corruption and the Presidents avowed intent to stem the tide, the second next to the President can be so insensitive to the wishes of Ghanaians. I hope one day he will come out and explain why he could not disclose the cost of the contract even before those cheap items arrived in the country, and why he did not take the opportunity on the first day after the recess to divulge the information to the house.
One would bet the figures were being adjusted somehow! This is Ghana. Even the one time President does it!

We have very skilled, capable carpenters in Ghana, who can produce good-enough furniture for use in our Parliament? We have abundance of raw materials that can be used to produce local furniture? Why do we import furniture from China? Yet we cry of unemployment for Ghanaians? If the parliamentarians want luxurious furniture, they should buy their own furniture. Who approved the import licence and did government know this, and allowed it to happen? Well, NDC, NPP ooooh, they are all the same? THIEVES!!!!

Or is it because of the bribery life style that has crippled us in the country.
