After six years in office with high commodity prices including oil, and after recklessly borrowing to the tune of about 60% of the GDP or more, forcing the Cedi to depreciate to about 40% of its value in few months and the government rushing to the IMF for a bail out, the NDC government is now propagating deceitfully that it is looking for ways to reduce Ghana's import bill on rice, sugar, tomatoes, among other items, by encouraging the production of those commodities locally.

Do you think the NDC government is sincere and realistic when it has only two years left in office? Food production is a priority that should have been started since 2009, but they said they are still looking for ways to start it next year or so. These guys can cook figures to deceive Ghanaians but they cannot cook figures to deceive the IMF.

It is great to learn that Dr. Kwesi Botchway one of the international intellectuals in Ghana is leading the negotiation team.As one of the intellectual pioneers who formed the NDC at Legon campus and one of the experienced intellectual and good politician of our time who had nogotiated with IMF before in the eighties when Ghana economy was despair at the time.With his experience we are sure to come out with generous terms with the IMF.Thanks to have such intellect behind among the NDC hierachies.Good luck Dr.Botchway.
