I agree with Justice Emile Short that the language used by GBA was inappropriate but at the same time, it is true that Afari Gyan's credibility was dented and the image of the Electoral Commission tarnished by what was revealed at the SC Presidential Petition hearing. If Afari Gyan could not define over-voting then why is he the Electoral Commissioner?

The GBA erred to have suggested the appointment of a new EC in advance when the existing one retires in 2015. That is against the constitution and it's sad that those who should be defending the constitution sought to undermine it. I hope they have learnt a lesson from this misguided and uncalled action.

All it takes for you and others is to follow the Woyome saga with some level of intellect and you will know that the Kufour government was crooked; Woyome deserves compensation.
How is it the Minister for Education, Youth and Sports, Yaw Osafo-Maafo of the erstwhile Kufour administration will send the purported letter to Woyome if there was never transactional communications between Woyome and government? What do you think the letter of award concurrence from Asafo-Maafo meant?
I do not blame you and others for your seeming ignorance on public bid processes. Once a government or entity publishes an article seeking bid participants and does open a bid package with a follow up award, the award does become a binding contract. In Ghana the constitution looks for parliamentary approval for contracts with companies with partial or full foreign ownership. That additional oversight does not invalidate contracts. Afterall no one in Kufour administration including Asafo-Maafo has shown documentation in court where the Woyome conditional contract was tabled before parliament and was rejected.

Had parliament had the gull to reject the conditional award with Woyome, that would have given the Kufour government two option; a re-open of new bids and or the Kufour route of seeking a closed bid. What I am sure happened was that Kufour and Asafo-Maafo goofed and botched the process but like all things Kufour and his bunch they were too much of yellow belly cowards to stand up and own up to their mistakes. I dare all you Woyome haters, and the NPP yahoos or NDC cowards to show when and hwre the parliament of Ghana voted to reject the Woyome conditional contract award?

Kufour trumped the process by using information that was obtained through the open bid contract toseek a better contract from a Chinese company. Ask anyone with knowledge on bid contracts and they will let you know what Kufour did was illegal and contrary to bid processes especially for using pricing from other competitors to seek a better price. All you yahoos glad to think Woyome did not have a contract must have egg on your faces because Asafo-Maafo letter says otherwise and he Asafo-Maafo was a legal government representative. And for those of you hanging your hat on Martin Amidu and the Supreme Court ruling I say you may have missed law 101 and or concepts of contract law. So while Woyome's contract was voided because it did not have a parliamentary approval as per Supreme Court ruling there was a contract still between government and Woyome even if conditional. And remember it was those very government officials who told Woyome he could start work even before the contract was voided or approved by parliament. It is not for individuals to know every article of our constitution but for government representatives to know and apply them accordingly which Asafo-Maafo failed like everything done during the Kufour era.

The Mahama NDC gov't together with it's collaborators from the seat of gov't, then the Castle, colluded and connived with Agbesi Woyome in a pact which has since been elevated to a policy of create, loot and share, to loot Ghana's money in a very reckless and crass manner, setting the stage for the massive thievery in 2012, with the quantum of such looting and thievery, including that occurring presently, causing the collapse of the economy and finances of the country.
Agbesi Woyome had no contract under the Sun with anybody in Ghana, not the then gov't in power ie the NPP or any Ghanaian, for which reason the then John Mahama led Economic management team of the Late President Mills, doled out Ghana's money to Agbesi Woyome.
Ghanaians are very much aware of the promotion of the culprits in the Mahama led NDC gov't, who colluded and connived to wreck this astronomical looting, and wanton and reckless thievery on Ghanaians by carting the contents of the national kitty off, and leaving the country in the doldrums.
The Supreme Court has issued it's verdict and the Mahama led NDC gov't should respect the rule of law, and comply with the law, which is not their strong forte, and retrieve Ghana's looted funds from Woyome and his NDC collaborators, and return it back into the national kitty.
