Lack of coordination for horrible decline.
Parents, teachers, pupils, local authority and the central government should be accountable for the horrible decline in Mepe, the centre of education in the Tongu since 1998.
Are the pupils and teachers well fed?
This horrible decline is noted in London, Europe and other parts of the world.
The Mepe Battor Delta Region was earmarked for Law, Arbitration and Technology University College for transformation of the Tongu area, Ghana and Africa.
Parents, teachers, pupils, opinion leaders and the public education authorities should pool together to benefit from the transformational project for a change.

The good news for Mepe is the MDA (the town devpt. assoc.)has identified the problem and tackling it.

As a native of Mepe, I know that the greatest problems confronting that community are ignorance, poverty and indiscipline. Parents of most of the school children are poor and live in fishing communities along the Volta lake and its tributaries. Most of these parents send their children home to stay with aged grandparents to attend school. The grandparents have little or no control over the children. The children therefore attend school under extreme condition of poverty and lack of parental supervision. Some of the girls take to promiscuity for survival. And generally, the children of Mepe who reside at Mepe are disrespectful. It is a fact that where the conditions described above prevail, academic performance nosedives.

Cause Effect and Solution for education at Mepe.
Mepe Schools descended from the sky at Mepe since the year 1898. The people have undying soul for education culminating in St Kizito SHS through the struggle of the High Priests of Education at Mepe.
Someone said the Mepe Development Association (MDA) identified the cause, effect and the solution for the decline in basic education at Mepe.
Mepe is a locked up area: transportation access is one way business. Not easy to move food to the area for the growing number of pupils and teachers. Accommodation for students and teachers are poor. The area suffers from the impact of the Akosombo Dam and the VRA is reluctant to compensate the people for the degradation of the area to back stream zongo.
What the MDA can initiate and do?.
1. Organise School Feeding for all Schools in the area. That will reduce the individual struggle in the nails and tooth battle. The human brain cannot work without food.
2. Dwelling houses for the pupils and Teachers. That will overcome the problems of parents migration to the North for fishing since Akosombo Dam.
Accountability issue will be raised to dwarf the solutions. Enlightened people of Mepe may prevail on that as they always do.
The Azonto dance must continue in the school grounds every Saturday afternoon. That is good for the soul, teaching and learning.
