They take full advantage of the vulnerability of the irresponsible and football supporter-like, mentality, to woo the vast and overwhelming numbers of actual illiterates and functional illiterates to vote for them.

If the NPP people are intelligent enough, they would wise up to this scheme and also look for money to paint the town red on election day. And they should stop pretending as if they do not know that after 500 years of colonial dictatorship, the long-suffering and disoriented people of Africa, have the capacity to sift the good from the bad in national elections.

The unfortunate truth is that generally, the electorate in Ghana do not vote because candidate x is deemed to be more able to deliver improvements in the status quo. No, because they have become accustomed to the fact that in-between elections, nothing ever happens. The only time that politicians communicate with the vast majority of the electorate is when the political campaigns start prior to elections.

The time-nurtured instincts of the electorate tells them to recoup whatever is due them during the campaign period, even if it means that it is just enough to purchase a fat mean roll of marijuana or a gift of an enema (bentwa). Therefore they dont really give a rats ass about whether they vote for the PNC, CPP, NPP, NDC or XYZ. Who gives a toss anyway?

This cannot be a path Ghana would want to traverse under any circumstances, because this national identification process, from the evidence available, is completed, it is done and dusted, and all that is left is for the NIA to start the process of issuance of the cards to Ghanaians.
Anything short of this is just a looting frenzy and a further increase in the debt profile on the Ghanaian taxpayer.
