In all political campaigning l have wittness in my life, Alen's is the poorest. How do you expect to defeat your opponent when you go about referring to him as your Senior brother. Alan is weak and lacks lustre. There was no energy and aggressiveness in his campaign. You don't win contests with imaginary God given keys. Nana is a known serial loser. That should have been his theme. At what point did Nana refered to Alan as my younger brother? l hope Alan has learn his lesson and would do things deferently next time he has the chance.

It sums it all up. How does he expect to lead the NPP when he disappears after primaries and shows up only to run in the next primary? He is out of his mind.

Yaw, I agree with some of your incisive analysis but not everything. You see, Alan Kyeremanting is naive, confused and badly lacks understanding of politics. Politics is not his career so he should move on to something else. He seemed to think that he could bribe his way into becoming the NPP flagbearer and subsequently the president of Ghana. He seemed also to have lost touch with reality and refusing to see the signs of the times. He would do himself a great favour by forgetting about politics b/c he is a long short in this area.

Perfect, brilliant, well-written article. You've said it all. In fact, throughout Alan's campaign, you could see he resorted to divisive tactics, laced with insults, abuses, name-calling and all. I was wondering how this idiot thought he could win the hearts of the delegates with all those "skeletons in his cupboard". They knew they wouldn't waste their time, energy and resources on a hit-and-run individual; someone who deserted the party in pursuit of his own personal aggrandizement. Selfish, egoistic, litigant of a presidential candidate, who would only come back when the boiling waters have cooled, to enjoy the fruit of those who had sleepless nights of labour and toil. He's now been shown his "smoothness levels", to borrow the words of loud-mouth Kwesi Pratt.

Good article, but let's get the correct spelling of the name of this pathetic presidential candidate. Is the name 'Alan' with a single 'l', or 'Allan' with double 'll'? This is the only time that I see it spelt 'Allan'.

The NPP party has spoken strongly and very effectively about the direction the party needs to be going, and Ghana congratulates the NPP for such a peaceful process. The battle for 2016 has just begun and it's time to forge ahead as a strong, resolute, united and formidable team to wrestle power from the NDC in 2016. Ghana is waiting for the NPP, and NPP need not fail.

Yaw, an interesting piece but i have a different take on the victory. The moment Nana Addo announced his intention too run he was going to win by a landslide and here is why:
1] While Alan spoke about reinforcing decaying party structures, Nana subtly spoke about robbery of the party's prize by the NDC in 2012 and the rents that will have accrued to foot soldiers and mid-level executives if the NPP was in power. Thus I will retrieve your stolen property. You lose your car and your uncle says he knows where it its and will get it back (might not be true though) and your other uncle advises you instead on new strategies to prevent theft. My bet is the first uncle will get your attention more than the second one.
Following from this, the foot soldiers, with lots to gain via income from NPP ministers, DCEs etc rallied to Nana's banner
2 He then used his shock troops to threaten sitting MPs. Anyone who goes against me will be deselected in NPP primaries. He did this to some extent in 2008 and thus has a track record in the matter. This brought the sitting MPs over to him
3] Other high-level members were then forced to be seen to be supporting him to win those coveted Ambassadorships, ministerial positions etc.
All this while Alan was speaking of the reforms to boost organizational capability
The messages were different and one sounded better in the short term than the other
Problem of course is now that Nana has won, the age old NPP problem of almost 7 years, i.e. his character, is back at centre stage and thus the Party has a serious problem to deal with if it wants to win 2016

Post mortem of what happened is not good at this time that we want power but we have more to write that will counter this one sided in objective write up .
