It appears to me that Kofi Asante Aning,the so-called "Asanteman Kofi",is pushing a little too hard for recognition from certain quarters.
Let`s face it, he can be passionate about the work he does,without showing outward bias and seeking to unnecessarily tarnish the reputation of innocent citizens. I believe his sidekick,Agya Manso,brings more maturity,wisdom, and humour to the station!

On a more legalistic analysis, if these are the facts of the case, the statements attributed to the defendants are not defamatory at all. It is simply an allegation that Duffuor was engaged in the free exercise of political action. He has a right to sponsor anyone to undermine any politician he deems unqualified, it is the nature of politics, and if someone points that out, he is not defaming him. Reporting the free exercise of political activity and actions by a public figure does not give rise to a defamation cause of action. Duffuor should be doing better things with his time, including putting on "yomo" to hide his gray hair; and he should be properly counseled by his lawyers on this matter and drop it. They have failed him on this score. But this being Ghana where the judges are semi-illiterate, they will fail to properly and critically analyze the case, the allegations and apply the proper standards of law to it. And because of this failing, probably rule in Duffour's favour.

Also, truth is an absolute defense to defamation. And I think the defendants can prove their truth of their allegations. Especially, if his complaint states he is a "politician". Politics is not for the thin-skinned.
