We must not discount the contribution of Dr Joseph Boakye Danquah, the rest oof the big six and others. In 1928 when little wasl known of African philosophy Danquah's work "Akan laws and customs and the constitution of Akim (Akyem) Abuakwa" convinced the Africans, the British and the world at large that the people of Ghana (Gold Coast) were ready for self government.

As one of the few African members of the legislative assembly he vehemently opposed the British decision to setup only one university for British West Africa in Nigeria. His action led to the decision to setup the University of Ghana - Legon.

All this was before Nkrumah came to the scene. But we must also not forget the immense contribution Nkrumah made.

I sincerely think the brain behind any successful pension scheme is the actuarial department. Do they have any and how many pension actuaries do they have. Future challenges will occur pretty soon.
