Tamale, Bolga and Wa are the three most populated cities in the region but they are less densely populated. Garbage is thus not generated at higher rates in the northern regions relative to the southern regions especially, Accra and Kumasi, which are huge urban centers with huge populations....Sir John should have known this before shooting off his mouth about the regions being the only ones in the nation that are scrupulously clean....thus implying that Mahama is biased towards the north because he hails from there...what an intelligent deduction, Mr. Sir John...

Sir John's criticism is not in the least surprising.....incompetence is a highly charged word and it is very incendiary.

To throw it around as often and as recklessly as the NPP loudmouths do is an example par excellence of our highly charged political temperature....an observation astutely made by Mo Ibrahim the other day in London....

This NPP scribe could have been more circumvent in his disagreement with the President, if anything at all, to tamper the rhetoric and demonstrate that there is some sense of civility in the system....

But no, he had to hurl insults all to conform with the NPP's stated goal of reducing all national debates to name-calling and puerile antics.....

Yes, Ghanaians are hurting under very harsh economic conditions and of course, this administration's policies are to be blame. However, any economist would tell you that economic meltdown does not start in a vacuum. The difficulties we are facing today have their genesis 10 to 15 years ago, or, even 57 odd years ago when we gained independence....

Blaming the NDC or the NPP for economic problems that are structural is plain foolish. Until, Ghanaians cut their habits of loving everything foreign, put a screeching halt to corruption and graft and deep-six nepotism and tribalism on their heads, we will continue to have cycles of booms and busts.

In my candid opinion our president at best should have compared the economy he is steering unsuccessfully to previous economies of our dear nation under erstwhile governments. President Mahama is not wrong if he says we are better than countries like Somali, Sudan, Eritrea and other less endowed economies. After all the public demonstrations and the doom so doom so that is affecting production and making industrial planning difficult, the weakening of our Cedi, inflation, collapsing NHIS etc Mahama still thinks he is doing his best.
