You should compare Ghana with neighbouring countries such as Cote d'Ivoire or even Togo and are they not better off than Ghana? Even Cote d'Ivoire that has gone through conflict is better of than Ghana that has witnessed peace throughout her independence.

If you fulfill your promises, then there would be no need for Ghanaians to complain. Please stop insulting hard working and suffering Ghanaians who cannot get regular supply of electricity, water as well as experiencing poor health care services, education, roads, sanitation and dying from cholera.

They elected you to solve the problems of the country and not to make unfulfilled promises as well as complain that they complain too much about your incompetence and mismanagement. If you cannot stand the heat do not go to the kitchen.

If he does not appreciate the plight of his country, with depreciating currency, excessive borrowing, struggling non existent middle class, and the majority of the populace, crumbling infrastructure and absence of new ideas in terms of development with the level of congestion in the city, high infant mortality rate, emergence of cholera outbreak when we thought we were so developed. How can this clueless and useless president solve any problem when he doesn't agree that we have a problem? When we look at the natural resources we are blessed with compared with other countries, this is not where we should be as a nation. The frustration is made worse when we see how fast politicians are getting rich whiles the common man struggles to make ends meet. Corruption and stealing backed by foolish support for these vices by people like you paint a hopeless future for a rich country like Ghana. A sensible president will not look at other hopeless leaders performance and say Ghana is better when you look at those nations. Ghanaians are aware of what Ghana is blessed with and how people like Mahama are misusing it. Why don't we make countries in Europe and North America our target when it comes to development, and we keep looking at the work of other hopeless leaders like Mahama on the African continent? After all, we now know there are sensible people from our motherland who can manufacture cars just like the Europeans and the North Americans. The crop of politicians we have in Ghana presently are useless.

It wasn't very long ago, not long ago at all that the President on his visit to the Ashanti Region with his entourage blasting the famous Daddy Lumba song "yenti3 obiaa" said that, Ghanaians in the Ashanti region who were bearing the brunt of the NDC gov't's mismanagement and corruption as well as thievery and looting, were complaining too much, and were ungrateful and no matter what his NDC gov't did, Ghanaians were not going to be appreciative.
This was after his ex National Security Advisor had also said if the kitchen was to hot for Ghanaians they should take their passports and get out. He has since decried the fast pace of deterioration of the country under the same Mahama NDC gov't.
The same sentiments that John Mahama expressed about Ghanaians in the Ashanti region, this time around has gone international, with the President again insisting that Ghanaians complain too much, inspite of the numerous, uncontrollable and intractable hardships of his gov't which has been visited on Ghanaians. Meanwhile the problems of filth, health crisis, educational catastrophe, economic quagmire, etc, etc still persist with IMF conditionalities projected to worsen these hardships further, and still John Mahama says Ghanaians complain toooo much; yooo.

They used to even complain about not having enough "provisions" after we gained our independence... Yep, milo, milk, sugar... That's provisions. We've been blessed with so many resources yet we are so poor. I do believe that there's nothing the God didn't give us as a nation to thrive. We have been praying to Jeseus for so many generations but nothing is happening. We have pastors who feed on the fear of their congregation about the fear of death and where we are going to go after death. Everybody wants to go to heaven. So he puts his hand in water and touch the foreheads of people telling them about their future and some of these gaullible people believe them. The country is so dirty everywhere you go you see thrash everywhere. Hospitals are infested with flies and rats and cockroaches , name them. How many students have been sent abroad for studies and never returned home after they complete their studies. Yet we sit down and blame blame blame the government all the time. Look not until we change our mindset moving forward in this millennium, we can never be fulfilled as a people at a higher level. Bring Akuffo Addo and he cannot do anything better. That's my word!

Realistically people will not complain if they have jobs to do to put food on the table and shelter over their heads. Majority of Ghanaians are bereft of these basic human needs. Why won't they complain?
Furthermore, you will be doing great disservice to the Ghana and the people of Ghana if you compare us to other countries which, in your own words, "are on the same pedestal as us. This is a little childish talk, Mr. President.
Remember, at the time of independence in 1957, with a GDP of more than 144 million pounds - easily the richest African country next only to South Africa. People from other parts of Africa came to study and to learn from us in Ghana. When the first Republic initiated industrial growth to cater for the needs of the growing population succeeding governments, not only discontinued this growth of industrialization, they began selling the existing plants and industries to family members.
What do we have to offer now?
When the Akosombo Hydro-Electric Project was built in late 50s to early 60s, it was estimated by the Kaiser Engineers that it would good for 50 years after which there would be the need for an alternative source of electricity. What do we see now? Why won't Ghanaians complain when we the people cannot enjoy the simple privilege of electricity when the little we have is sold to other countries.

Fellow Ghanaians, you can either agree with the President or criticise him, but you don't have the right to insult him just as you wouldn't like anybody to insult you for whatever reason. This is the problem I have with my fellow Ghanaians. Once an article is posted on ghanaweb.com, regardless of who wrote it, all that a substantial majority of us do is simply heap insult on them. If good infrastructures and viable economic conditions are in place, do you think Ghanaians will complain about whatever goes inside the government dealings? Ghanaians are not begging the government to put food on their kitchen tables. All they need is government should create the environment for them and they will maneuver to reach their set goals. I think you will agree with me that if domestic animals like cows, pigs, goats, sheep, chicken and others enjoy light or electricity for 24/7/365 in their life time in some countries, I do not see why some human-beings are deprive of such social amenity whilst others in the country enjoys it at the expense of those who are in deprivation? When the Controller and Accountant General's Department(CAGD), the Central Government's Paymaster General in a circular to workers has indicated there is no money to pay Ghanaian workers in the month of September because of financial difficulties, you're standing somewhere here in the United States talking rubbish. How do Ghanaian civil and public servants, who have not robbed their country like you have, live or survive between now and October 15th, that they expect to be paid for their labor/services in September.
You want Ghanaians to understand you, as you battle with the management of the Ghanaian economy, but little do you know that, you're sowing the seed for civil unrest and mutiny. You're exhibiting your callousness to the world, because you don't even admit that to deny a worker his wages for more than 15 days is crux criminality in high places.
You epitomize incompetent in governance. You have failed Ghanaians, robbed them, and have stolen power only to enrich yourself and make your family members live in wealth and affluence. Look at your brother. You aided him to rape Merchant Bank to capitalize his business and turn him into a business magnate. At the end of the day, the Bank is no more. It had to be combined in business through a takeover to maintain its solvency and keep it as going concern.
Today, you are insulting Ghanaians. Is it not funny? Whether Ghanaians see a glass half-full, and call it half-empty, proves one simple fact of lack of ability to lead and provide for your people. Provide a full glass of water and Ghanaians would not call it half-empty. You duty as a leader, is to maximize the welfare of the people you lead; not to maximize your self-interest and greed.
Think and try to make sense to your people. You're a square peg in a round hole.
