Oh Mr president, another foot in your mouth! There is nothing like MBA. If Ghana does not need MBAs, then there is something wrong with your values for education and planning. Any person or student can go in for MBA, be they engineers, doctors, Pharmacists or watin con. What remains to be done is to restructure the secondary and technical programs and not talk about MBA in Ghana's educational programs. This an advanced degree to which the country needs more and not the loose talk you are making. You have turned the presidency into a laughing stock. What plan or legacy are you leaving towards the development of technical skills and vocational training for the youth and of course, transitional re-education for the adult population who have found themselves in a position of "can never progress" at their present work places, John, the president? Nothing. Just shut up if you have nothing better to tell us Ghanians. John Mahama is out of touch with what Ghana needs.

If industry have a special need, they should provide scholarships to deserving students as is done in the USA, Canada, UK and other advanced countries.
There should be salary differentials to act as an incentive for study the difficult subjects.
Preaching will not get us to where we have to be especially when people are footing their own bills.
Instead of blindly copying stuff from movies, we should be looking at what makes their economies hum.

When one listens to the NDC gov't led by John Mahama and the statements they make, one is left to just laugh out loud about whether they understand what it is they are even talking about.
The President talks about a mismatch between the skills set needed by the industrial sector and those being churned out by the tertiary institutions. So the question one needs to ask is what industries is the President even talking about for which there's the lack of the requisite skills set? The answer to that basic question should put this statement in the right perspective.
For the president again to talk about data on available jobs clearly shows that the Ministry of Employment and Labour relations as well as the Ghana Statistical service is completely clueless and it's an indictment on the functions of our institutions of state.
Again with the recent happenings in the educational sector right from the basic level to the tertiary level as well as special needs education, it stands to reason that there's a very clear and serious disconnect between the most basic fundamental understanding of the concept of human resource development/education in the context of a developing country and the needed investment required to address just one aspect of this development paradigm, out of a multiplicity of factors, of which good employment and decent work forms an integral part consequentially.
Just to cite just one example about the skills set from our tertiary institutions and industry; where are the Chemical Engineers who were working at our only refinery ie TOR?

I am sorry but I would like to know if Mr President was a
bit tipsy when writing this! I once read a profile of the 'Mighty' General Mosquito described as one of the most intelligent guys in Ghana!. Could he please save his uncle from further ridicule?. The whole system of education right from the primary school needs SERIOUS ATTENTION and, as a Head of State, he is waffling on MBA degrees! He does not make sense. It reminds me of what Kutu Acheampong said regarding the BAR Association going on strike. He asked his military officials whether they ate in 'Chop Bars'. When they said no, he then chuckled and remarked: "OK Then They Chop Bar people could go on strike as long as they want; we don't care!" NDC people, please save this man from himself!
