Francis, you think aloud in this piece about the goings-on in the murky political waters of Ghana. However, allow me to point out that as an academic, you are allowed to cite authorities, but this Soyinkanisation of yours is getting a little nauseating. Soyinka this, Soyiinka that, haba! Please, give us your own vintage take on issues and forget about the Noble Laureate because you could become one if you begin airing your own thoughts too. Have a wonderful day. I think the political wranglings in NPP irk you and you seem frazzled by the nonchalance and indolence of BNI on certain issues. Maybe you should find out more how these security apparatus operates.

Uncle Kwesi, you have clearly espoused and reiterated an aspect of my views on Kwarteng's style of writing that I find unattractive: his penchant for dull references to others that cloud his brilliance and originality. Articles are not theses that one has to heavily depend on authorities to largely validate one's hypothesis. Rather, it is an avenue to channel one's opinion fiercely and sublimely interspersed gracefully with diction that sits well and moves the readers mind to reason rationally.
l have maintained comrade Kwarteng has a message which is relevant for our time. He must not mess it mercilessly by being deficient in originality and by this I mean his approach.
Of course, we have our literary influences but that should not hinder our creative prowess. l dream of a day that I pick brother Kwarteng's literary rendition and declare that is another masterpiece from the indefatigable 'wordsmith'.
I trust my brother will swallow this seemingly bitter pill of potent critique in good faith. I have always referred my brother to reread the sterling piece he did for the venerable and timeless Prof Awoonor and he will melt into the mould of thought as posited by his constructive critics.

Dear Sammy/Brother Kwesi,
I am surprised you can't see through my writings.
I see nothing worrisome about Brother Kwesi's critical remarks. I have said this a thousand times: I have a couple of readers who have never had problems with any of my articles. Sammy, there is nothing bitter about Brother Kwesi's commentary. I would have wished both of you analyzed what Soyinka is saying.
They perfectly understand whatever I write whether I give them a thousand or a million quotes. These readers have relied on my references to enrich their personal libraries.
In any case I am still not done with Soyinka yet and more is still to come in the future. Soyinka has recently done an excellent scientific/scholarly work on religious fundamentalism and politics (dictatorships, democracy) around the world and it is my desire to share this with my readers.
I am not familiar with many of the studies he carried around the world until I read them. What I sourced to him is just the tip of the iceberg.
Quoting here and there has never hinder my creative prowess as Sammy thinks. Sammy, you may want to ask "Brother" how my numerous references have helped him in school. In fact that is the part he likes about my articles.
Finally, I have maintained all of the Soyinka references in my upcoming articles "Kwame Nkrumah, Barack Obama, John Mahama, IMANI."
Expect more from Soyinka.
Thanks.

Dear Brother Sammy,
This same article ("What Sort of Democracy Is This") that you and Brother Kwesi are complaining about ended (quotes, etc) up on modernghana's Top 10 most popular articles.
This piece also counts among my modernghana articles that have generated the most "hits."
Unfortunately Ghanaweb does not provide adequate statistical data for writers to ascertain article's popularity. It has also generated more private correspondences between myself and modernghana readers than what I see on Ghanaweb.
This is not self-defense. What I provide here are the hard facts. Modernghana editors will confirm them. You may write to them for verification if you so wish.
I know some readers will still complain about my soon-to-be-published Ghanaweb articles (not topically different from what you and Brother Kwesi have complained about) which have received one of the highest "hits" I had ever recevied on modernghana.
As of this writing, there are many modernghana correspondences I am responding to regarding the ones you and Brother Kwesi have complained about and the latest one.
These are serious and widely read folks. None has complained about the Soyinka refernces. Instaed they only asked for the sources (names of books, speeches, videos, etc) and expect more of such from me in the future!
You see how strange the world can be at times! A couple of folks are complaining while a seeming majority are rejoicing over the same thing!
Thanks.

Well, well, well, what more can I say? My brother keep on writing based on your convictions and perhaps someday the few critics may come to terms with your approach. Bonne chance.

It is all an amalgamation of bogus quotes and words words which makes no proper sense. His contributions are clear indication of showing off with any nonsense that he can think of.
