Thre is absolutely nothing wrong with Ghana's Election processess, from Registration of Voters up to the declaration of results.
It is the NPP that is causing all this problems.
The lost the elections and are trying to establish blames with the process to hide behind the defeat.
The ballots reconciliation part of the so-called Pink Sheet should be removed for its simplicity, after all that part is not in the constitution. The only portion which is in the constitution is the Declaration of Results part which records number of ballots papers obtained by each candidate and signed by party representatives.

What is new in the process he is talking about. He is just naive person who has never gone thru the election process in Ghana. Anyone who has gone through the election process especially the 2012 election will know Ghana has one of the best election structure right now. What do you change the structure if there is nothing wrong with it? All political parties have their representative at each polling station to watch and report whatever goes on there. If there is something, there are not comfortable with. They can raise issues with that and if the presiding officer does nothing, he will fill complain form to be looked at the district collation centre where they have their collation officers. Before election results are declared. All polling agents in addition to their supporters, election officers like CODEO, journalist etc looked on whiles the votes are counted and then filled into the form. After the forms have been filled each polling agents signed the declared results and each given a copy to be given to thier collation officers at the districts and municipal or constituency collation centres. Remember at that polling station each party especially NDC and NPP have their people around who calls their constituency offices to inform them of the declared results. after that these polling agents with election staff and the security personnel follow the ballot to the collation centres where they give the declared results to thier collation officers. When the results are being collated the collation officers of each political party collate its results from the polling stations to see whether their results tally with the electoral commission before they will agree to accept the results. if they were queries raised at the polling stations the electoral officer will address it before the results are fax to the regional offices where each political party has members manning the strong room or what Gyampo want to call collation centres. They also confirm the results before the results gets to the national electoral commmission. When the results get there, there are national officers of each political party also there to confirm the results before the results goes the chairman of EC to confirm the reuslts and declare. Remember before this most radio stations have already taken the results and will start calliing the results for either party A or PARTY B. If there is anyone who cares more about the votes not he Gyampo who will not spent even one of sleep to watch on TV what goes in the election but these political parties who spend sleepless nights and huge sums of money in electioneering process. So if you are serious political party before the electoral commission declares the results you know you have won or lose unless you want to be mischievous as we saw in 2012. So please, Gyampo should involve himself in the electoral system before he spews what he dosn't know. Sometimes it is good to keep quiet and let people presume for you than to speak and remove all doubts. what cheap proposal. Duplication of system.

Dr Gyampo has embarrased himself with his ignorance. He should call on his NPP to work hard, respect the electorate, minimise its arrogance and convince Ghanians that when given the chance to govern the country,it will hit hard at drug peddlers, that it will not change the current currency and loot the old one, keep the ministers of state in check so that they dont loot the state coffers and also not to buy state lands cheap and resell. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with the Electoral System in Ghana.Indeed ,several African countries are eager to apply our system in their own countries Dr Glover. When the NPP won election in the past, it was the same process that was followed my dear Dr Gyampo. My advice to Dr Gyampo is to consider the point made by Dr Apraku that a study must be conducted by the Party into the causes of its defeat which unfortunately was not taken seriously. We need a strong opposition party in Ghana to make our Democracy viable and formidable. Therefore the NPP must not be looking for a failure a non-existing failure in our Electoral System as a cause for its defeat in elections. It is unfortunate that the NPP will again lose the 2016 elections if it continues to press systemic failure in the electoral process. The Party has an image problem and must correct.

Dr Gyampoh should rather find out what goes on in the so called strong room. To the best of my knowledge the place referred to as the strong room is the conference room of the EC. It is not only reps of political parties who are there but but senior reps of various media houses and ops officers of EC as well as a few others who care to be there. I do not think the place is shut to reps of civil societies etc. How come that white man was able to record goings in that room during the last two election? That should tell you it is not a strongroom as the name connotes. If u want the name changed from strongroom to National Coalition Centre so be it but I do not think it will be shut to reps of other civil societies like CDD, IEA, IMANI etc in so much as they will remain neutral in their discourse.
