Dear Mr. Suleman,
Good job on your work here. However, there are couple of points I'd like us to look at. Foremost, I'm engaged in a similar study in the USA here titled: "Sustainable Economic Development: Analytical Review of Sustainable Economic Policy Decisions in
Emerging African Economies, A Case of
Ghana". The study looks at three sustainable investable areas, which are Energy,
Economics (of which your write-up here touches), Small Agribusiness Economics, and Human Resource/Labour Economics.

Now, to SUSTAIN means plans and actions that can hold what we currently own and to ready us to embrace what the unknown future has for us. The first part of this has been elaborated in your write-up. Nevertheless, the second part, which is how our current holdings can withstand future technological dictates (SUSTAINABILITY) needs to be assessed.
The Energy you are focusing on-fuels, electricity, gas, thermal, etc -by itself, must be clean to withstand future demands. You are absolutely right that infrastructural design must meet future needs but Ghana does not have them. They do not exist in the first place.
Whose problem is that? All the successive governments of ours are to blame, and not only one (current). Analytical review of statutory national economic policies will exhume weaknesses of the basic fabrics of our government.
Finally, you did well in identifying the huge existence of demand for those energies of which supply is meagre.

Mr. Suleman, how can you address the issues of sustainability without touching on the various options that potentially make up the energy mix of our country?
