Apparently that Denu dude is broke, wanted some money and intentionally provoked - knowing that those 'macho' men would give him some slaps, he would then file a case against them and finally get what he wanted.

Will Baffour Gyan and Anim Addo get fair trial given that the media fraternity has already judged them by their pronouncements in the press?
They are deemed innocent until proven guilty and those sentiments expressed by the media should not paint them as devils and pre-judge them.
In as much as I do not support the use of brutal force to settle scores, one should be circumspect in condemning them. Every coin has got two faces. When a bird has learnt how to fly in people faces, the people have also learnt how to shoot.Any right thinking person will be provoked by the acidic question posed by Denu. Could Denu himself pass the lithmus test if the tables were to turn? I believe the court will do justice in a fair manner and that show of sympathies for Denu will not sway the court. The onus lies with the Prosecution to prove its case beyond reasonable doubt.

Yes and it is only dumb contributors like Agyena-Karikari above, who thinks that these so-called journalists are worth any respect.
If journalists dont have any sense of decency and cannot observe the most common ethical demands of society for members of the public, then they merit to be given what they deserve in equal measure. There is nothing to debate about this.
Whether it is a policeman, a doctor, a civil servant, a fish-monger, a thief, an unemployed person or a Pastor who steps on your toes or gets in your way, I say give it to him/her. This way, everybody will learn to respect everybody else

we deify and idolize mediocrities and nonentities who dont even have as much as respectable and sustainable legacies that we can all point to and agree as marks of excellence. That is because some of us have not got the guts and the brains to question and to advance beyond the humdrum that we see and live comfortably with.
In your particular case, you have been instructed by those who dont wish you well to understand that journalists are untouchable and that we must humbly look the other way and run when they consistently slap us in the face with their crass irritating ignorance and stupidity. You seem to be happy with this arrangement. I am not and it must change.
For me, anybody, whether he is a journalist or not, who has the temerity to insultingly suggest to me in my face that I am responsible for the ritual murder of my best friend, will not live long enough to take me to court.
Perhaps in some countries where they delude themselves that they are civilized and where virtually all the media institutions are owned by the same class of people who control the their legal and political institutions as well, it is possible for them to subtly oppress the larger but less wealthy and powerless sections of their societies with such bizarre and primitive philosophies such as the freedom of the press to be morally repugnant.
As you can clearly see from the overwhelming and sympathetic public reaction in favor of the Gyan brothers in this matter, we will not allow ourselves to be controlled by a few rich people who employ their errand boys and macho-men that they call journalists, to do their bidding and run riot over the rest of society.
And by the way, I am still waiting for an answer to my question about what it is that you think makes PAV Ansah a great journalist.

Afia Pokua Adom FM
Adom FM's Afia Pokua and two other journalists were Thursday afternoon brutalised by the Manager of the National Health Insurance Scheme at Ablekuma in Accra.
The three journalists were physically assaulted at Ablekuma, Flamingo- Zongo Junction.
Nana Sefa, a reporter with the station, had gone there to report on the frustrations and complaints of persons who had been queueing since 3am to go through biometric registration, but had his mobile phone confiscated by Mr. Israel Kwame Laryeah, the Scheme Manager of the NHIS there.
Mr Laryeah detained the reporter, insisting he would only release him if his Editor came there.
But things took a different turn when Afia Pokua also known as ‘Vim Lady’ got there in the company of another reporter, Kofi Assan.
According to Kofi Assan, the Scheme Manager released Nana Sefa after he and Afia intervened.
But the journalists walked out of the Manager's office to a hostile crowd which accused the young reporter of going to hide in the Manager's office, leaving them to their fate.
Attempts by the news editor, Afia, to explain things to them infuriated Mr. Laryeah who pounced on her and assaulted her badly.
Hassan said he received severe beatings too when he tried to defend his editor. He said his clothes were torn in the ensuing scuffle.
Meanwhile, Communications Manager for the NHIA, Serlorm Adornoo in an interview with Myjoyonline.com says, his outfit is yet to be briefed on the development and so could not comment on it.
This is the second time in less than a week that journalists from the Multimedia Group Limited have survived attacks in the hands of public officers.
Last Saturday, Felix Akunor, a driver with MultiTV and two journalists, Solomon Joojo Cobbinah and Festus Jackson Davies were arrested on the orders of the Mayor of Accra, Alfred Vanderpuije while covering a story on the plight of some displaced people at Mensah Guinea in Accra, following the demolition of their structures the previous day by city authorities.
They have been charged with offensive conduct.

His line of questioning was rather stupid. No professional journalist would have asked the type of questions posed by this particular journalist. It was however wrong for the machomen and Gyan's brother to react that way. That assault was not necessary and uncalled for.
Gyan's brothers could put up a great fight in court though. This guy despite witnesses did not report this assault until two or three days after, then given the supposed medical referral note by the police. Hmm, the question is how credible would the doctor's report/opinion be? Three days after the incident? What if the so-called symptoms had been self-imposed? Gyan's lawyers should wake up and challenge the doctor's report.. Could be fraudulent and influenced, and AS SUCH not credible!

well, for me I think people rather want Asamoa Gyan but not the brother because what the daily graphic manager said was that they would deal with Gyan brothers to the latter. if not then why that some group of people including Baffour Gyan will beat up somebody and then one person will be arrested and put before court and letting the alleged thugs to have their freedom.
looking at what this lawyer too is doing, lawyer Maurice Ampaw, tells you that he wants something from Asamoa Gyan that is why ever since this Castro's case happened he has been jumping from one radio station to another to the extend that he is even accusing Castro's father to have been bribed by A.Ghana.
my advice to the Gyans' family is that if a Ghanaian journalist comes to them concerning Castro's disappearance, you shouldn't mind such a person.
