Nana Addo lost to Mills, and lost to Mahama. In 2016, there is not going to be new candidate he can defeat.In our history, no sitting President has ever lost an election. NPP should nt be dreaming with this funny thought that Mills attempted 3 times before winning, forgetting that if Kufour had gone another round, Mills would have lost to him again.History will repeat itself in 2016. Maybe by whipping up his base support, he unintentionally said some things he shouldn't have said. This happens all the time to politicians in the heat of battle but smart ones have damage control. They step in front, make press conference and apologize. Unfortunately this guy and his supporters are more interested in sweeping things under the rug than fixing things. In politics if you don't label yourself your opponents will label you.

For the first part of your quote, wherever you get money from to pay the party workers is your beef to chew. Immediately after the elections are you going to maintain them on the tax-payer's budget? On your second quote about building industries and handing them over to private entrepreneurs is not realistic and is unachievable. How do you name such venture and what role would the government play and on what basis would such industries be handed to private entrepreneurs? Don't get me wrong, such move will end up like most failed State Institutions. You better create an environment where individual entrepreneurs could seize on such opportunity and come with their own ideas than government this government that attitude. Few examples here will suffice; I invested in the stocks and for the first three years I was losing money but didn't change my strategy but kept on doing the same thing. Eventually, I started gaining and now my portfolio is very very good. Some people keep on playing lottery (same numbers) all the time. They lose for quite a long time then one day they win millions. CNN, if you read their history was losing money, over $2,000,000.00 a year at the initial stages, but Ted didn't give up and also didn't change his strategy for a long time, now they are reaping millions. You may lose two, three, or even four times doing the same thing but one day you will be winning.

Einstein was a scientist that was why he thought that way, but science in not absolute. Science doesn't rule the world in absolute terms. Wether we like it or not luck is real, conditions can also change and favor the 'loser'. In Akuffo Addo's case, the economic conditions in Ghana have changed for the worse, and he stands the chance of winning. Successful business lost so many times at their initial stages till they started winning and growing in terms of profit. The world is not scientifically rational or perfect. Predictions can fail.

I just don't see how Nana Akuffo Addo has more appeal now to the wider Ghanaian population than he had during his two previous failed attempts to get Ghanaians to vote him president.Some people within the NPP seem to have a problem grasping the crucial difference between having "solid" support WITHIN the NPP and having little or no support within the wider Ghanaian population .TO STATE THE OBVIOUS MAHAMA IS PRESIDENT BECAUSE HE HAS MORE SUPPORT OUTSIDE OF THE NPP.So any flag bearer of the NPP MUST AIM PRIMARILY TO INCREASE THEIR SUPPORT BASE OUTSIDE OF THE NPP.So far Nana Akuffo Addo has failed repeatedly to do so. Nana Addo is a great politician in terms of media hype, intimidation and phschological operations but whilst fear non gearing, propanganda and populism works for NDC, it turns voters off NPP. We are the party of discipline that can be trusted to tell Ghanaians the truth and be fair to all. The seasoned democrats who can be trusted. But since Nana Addo became leader he has ushered in indiscipline and open rebellion against those who do not kowtow to his aggressive methods. In a bid to match the NDC he has rebranded the NPP into a cult of unconventional activists and propagandist who have instituted a culture of silence in the party. Now Ghanaians find it extremely difficult to distinguish between the NDC and the NPP. He struts around the country like a head of state followed by hefty violent bodyguards who diss and piss off everyone. With and army of babies with sharp teeth who threat all NPP elders including founding members of the party like mere tenants. The have complete messed up the party, diverted its finances and radicalized the party into an attacking force on public radio with no organizational or strategic grounding in the field. The finances of the party and fund raising on behalf of the party has been hijacked and centralized in his household and used as a basis to bribe structures, and even prevent perceived or potential opponents or those refuse to be sycophantic out of office. Constitutional amendments made to suit him in 2012 primaries are now being rubbished and ignored because they want to control the outcome of every internal election. Three consecutive electoral loses are left in examined and are only being blamed on so called disunity and electoral fraud only as if poor strategy, bad leadership, nepotism, indiscipline, misapprotion of campaign funding and disorganized campaign execution have nothing to do with defeat or even tackling electoral fraud and uniting the party. This is how far Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo's intolerant leadership style, blame game, diversionary and intolerance, hypersensitivity to democratic principles in practice has brought the NPP - 8 years in opposition with a potential 4 additional years, a weakened and divided party or rather cult of sycophants and worshippers fighting against every one else who wants to strengthen the party into a disciplined force as against the parallel structures beholden to only Nana Addo in and out of elections. The "No Vote" chant like the "All Die be Die" chant best captures Nana the Leader as compared to Nana the opposition activist it's against dictatorship. Is he cannot they for God, Party and Country can go to hell or ashes. The past track record of liberators and freedom fighters does not count when they become heads of state or even party leaders. The institute their own dictatorships and private armies to silence opposition based on the remixes that their sacrifices in the past entitles them to lead and dictate to the silent majority and treat the public purse as their personal property, whilst they see their colleagues as cowards, traitors and fools. Check Castro, gadaffi, Mugabe, Paul biya, Omar bongo. Old foxes who have mortgaged their countries and parties to family and friends as just reward for sacrifices of the past

The will and determination to carry on after setbacks demonstrates a strong sense of character and the will to succeed. Akuffo Addo has demonstrated that he does not allow setbacks to drag him down the path of failure but gets up after a fall, shakes the dust off him and he's even more determined than ever to succeed. He's committed to success and nothing stops a man who is determined to succeed. Success is not for the faint-hearted but the lion-hearted. That's not in you, Alan.
If anyone should be called a failure it's you Alan"Quitman" Kyeremanten. You always quit and turn your back on the party any time you lost the party's flagbearer contest (2 times) and only re-surfaces after 4 years to contest again. That's called being opportunistic. That's what a failure does. Who should hold the fort in your absence so you can return anytime you decide just to come and reap where you have not sowed? My expectation was that NPP should have won by a landslide.
Was it due to complacency, or Akuffo Addo not being a likable candidate by the populace?

The economy was struggling in 2012 and the consensus was that most Ghanaians were not happy with the state of the economy during Atta Mills era.Every Ghanaian seemed to be appalled by Woyome's gargartuan judgement debt scandal, an issue that could have energized voters to poll for Nana Akuffo Addo but again Nana Addo managed to win only Ashanti and Eastern regions.

Is it something about Nana Addo that most ghanaians detest or is it about the divisive utterances made publicly by some of the big wigs in the party that have made most non-Akans not want to see the party come to power? Obviously, tribalism did not seem to be an issue when Kuffour won by landslide in 2000 and 2004.

Yes, the economy is terrible today and most people may change their attitude and vote for a change if elections were held today. However, will the state of the economy in 2016 be as bad ,worse or better than today?

If the the economy gets better or shows signs of improvement, will the voting trend change in favor of Nana Addo?

Will real or artificial changes in the economy in the election year(2016)like highlighted below make Ghanaians want to give Mahama one more term?

- reduction in fuel prices
- increase in the producer price of cocoa
- increase in workers salary
- pump dollars into the system to increase the value of the Cedi thereby reducing inflation
- stable power supply
- revised lorry fares due to reduced gas prices
etc, etc, etc.

NPP will have to be united, be more strategic and work their ass off starting from now rather than being complacent, else it will be more of the same come 2016 elections.
The govt in power has so many arsenals and advantage to let go a second term especially to a party without a strong base.
