Sarpong, you are very correct. This is the reason why I began long ago to protest against insults which some of us have been trading at each other, both within the NPP, and between its members and others. That applies also to the ethnic attacks we trade among ourselves.

If the NPP loses any of its core votes, it would be more difficult for it to win in 2016. Period!

When the Akufo-Addo's supporters began their assault on Alan, calling him Mr. "Quitman" and other disparaging names, those of us who knew their idol candidate, Nana, also once abandoned his Party, the PFP, to join Paa Willie's UNC, on a simple disagreement that could have been resolved, we held back our urge to retaliate, hoping that Nana would himself intervene in some way to quell the rising hatred between the factions. That did not happen and soon we had GAKE also going on offense against Nana. Now both factions have taken it too far. And at some point, NPP would have to deal with the loss of some of its core voters who might decide to wreck the chances of the other side that eventually wins the Primaries.

My late Uncle Nana Yeboah Asuamah,
Banmuhene of my hometown, often used the following Akan proverb to plead for level-headedness in people: "If a bad ghost or spirit comes to your house, you should entertain him or her with Mashed Plantain doused with Palm Oil and pitted with boil eggs to drive him or her out". That is to say: If we happen to encounter some dangerous, harmful, or disruptive person, we may have to use tact and even sweet-talking to get rid of him or her.

For all I know, antagonizing those we disagree with more and more drives them to hate us even more, and make it harder to ever have their support in achieving anything positive. If NPP really wants to win in 2016, it should learn to use decorum, in the very least, or even friendly courtship to win more people over, be they within or outside it.

Right, now, it is Nana's side that is revving up its insults on Alan's group, thinking the huge margin Nana scored over Alan in the candidates trimming exercise somehow renders Alan and his faction irrelevant.

However, whether or not Alan backs down before the Primaries, the continued assault on him and his faction could cause Nana to lose many of Alan's supporters, after the Primaries. And if that happens, Nana could surely lose again. I can see how the NPP could win the Parliamentary majority but lose the Presidency in a scenario like described above, and many in NPP, mad at the Party's flagbearer, would live with it.

Ken let me analysis things for you; it is very dangerous to talk that way because money alone cannot vote is only human beings. I believe Allan likes Nana despite what is going on. Allan has done more for Nana than some of those just following Nana.

One of the reasons why Nana lost is: Nana won the flagger bearer ship by means of divide and conquer. And once anyone wins competition in that style, you fail to get the whole pie during a general election. No matter what some people like Allan. The best way to say is to tell Allan we need you.

If NPP MP’s have anything to say they should rather speaker out about how people are suffering in Ghana due to economic hardship. But NONE of the NPP MP's are talking because they are okay their salaries have been double and they are afraid Mama will reduce it if they talk. ALLA NPP NEEDS YOU

I wish to use this opportunity to encourage Nana Akufo Addo that some of us who are not party people but specifically floating voters are strongly behind him.We admire his conduct in the face of provication. For me, I admire him so much probably I am also a March born person. I will do everything I can to assist him win the 2016 elections. I did it for J.A Kuffour in 2000, I did it for Late Prof Mills in 2008 and did again for the current president in 2012. Now the tide will change in his favour and I will not disclose how I did all these. It is early days yet and I will have the opportunity to meet him some day soon.
I want to repeat again that I am the best strategist in the whole world, and I mean it.
I can tell the people of Ghana about any move by the NDC currently but I smile at them. Again it is early days yet.

It is obvious Nana Addo will become the NPP flagbearer in the end. Its also obvious the other candidates will not want to go away or accept defeat and move on without being 'begged'.
But this is what Ken is supposed to know. Voting brings animosity and division.The longer these candidates continue to campaign for votes within the party, the more they continue to divide the party's base and the more difficult it gets to settle scores and reunite the party. It is also possible, Allan could go independent if matters are not handle right within the party. If that should happen, we all know what the results could be for the party- divided voters.
As confident as the NPP feels about wining the next general elections, the core supporters are still going to come from Ashanti and Eastern.
NPP must be very careful and do whatever it takes to unite the party at the earliest possible time. They will need money and lots of money for the 2016 election campaign. It will be wise for the party to save whatever dime they can get and not waste it on some stupid October 18 election whose result is already known.
Africa is always going to be Africa and Ghana is always going to be Ghana.
It's not as easy to unseat a govt after its first term (4 years) than it is in its second term.
As we all know the ruling government will do everything within and outside their means in the election year to try to convince voters they deserve one more term.
Ploys like:
- Decrease fuel prices
- Pump more dollars into the system to increase the value of the Cedi and hopefully reduce inflation
- Start to construct new roads
- Start to build electricity poles and bring in cables to places that still don't have electricity
- Stabilize Power supply ( no more DUMSOR in 2016, unless may be in the Ashanti region. lol)
- Increase workers salary
- Increase cocoa prices
- Supply free fertilizers and insecticides to cocoa farmers

On top of all those gimmicks, they have CASH, T-shirts,cement, roofing sheets etc etc to gift potential voters to lure them to vote for them

You and me know how some of these voters may even vote anyone that gives them free olonka of salt.
The government has access to taxpayers cars and other logistics to run their campaign.

My advice to NPP is not to be complacent. It is just so hard to unseat a government in his first term.

I am shocked at sometimes, the arguments presented by Ken Agyapong and the crew from Akuffo Addo camp . To attempt to make the claim, that, Nana Addo would defeat Alan anytime, and on any turf, is as illogical, as it is fallacious.
Why would a party, that prides itself with pure democratic credentials, pick their candidate with the vote of only 800 people. If they should go ahead with this, who would NPP think they are deceiving? At the end of the day, the decision for who leads Ghana, won't be decided by a few hundreds or thousands of Ghanaians. It is going to be decided by millions of Ghanaians. If so, why do you make mockery of the whole show? NPP ought to be very careful about who represents them for the general election.
Akuffo Addo has already lost twice to NDC. He is therefore a push-over for the party. Eight years in opposition, is a long time; meaning, the party is already losing grounds. Their achievements under Kuffour, would soon be forgotten by Ghanaians.
As a candidate, Akuffo Addo is not on point, on the Economic and Social message. They(Nana and his hand picked Bawumia, could not challenge the Mahama administration on the issues confronting Ghanaians.
NDC, on the other hand, can also rebuff the argument of economics, as a global whirlwind, which can affect any nation, irrespective of size and might. Even super powers and developed economies have been hard-hit before and come out of it. How much more a country like Ghana. This means that, such shocks are exogenous, and can be be controlled and managed by prudent economic decisions and policies.
What I am saying is that, election is a game of numbers. It is therefore won by candidates who can win floating votes and swing regions. Elections are won by candidates, who basically can win female votes(not too old,stronger and nice candidates), and do not polarize/divide, but rather unify the country and its people.
The population that your(NPP) candidate will be seeking votes from, is large; for that matter, you do not pick someone, who is decided on, by an unrepresentative, skewed, and biased sample. Let your candidate be chosen from a properly organized "primaries", which is well represented by a good number of the rank and file of the party.
Allan is the one who can beat NDC, and bring glory to your party.
Think deeply and hardly as party, on who should lead you to win power.
Remember, all those making the call for a universal acclamation of Nana, as NPP's candidate, are gluttons, who are looking for a party insider, so that they can control and manipulate for their personal and selfish gains.
