The Ebola virus is not transmitted via handshake. Like AIDS, Ebola is only transmitted through bodily fluids like saliva, blood transfusion and sex.So for the catholic church to advise its members not to shake hands to avoid catching the disease is making matters worse. Education and public awareness is very important in combatting the disease. Washing hands regularly is the universal practice of avoiding diseases including Ebola so that is ok for the catholic to advise its members. But to not shake hands?...that is over the bar!

It is on record that this virus first showed up in the Congo in 1976 but it did not kill that many. So, why is it spreading so fast and leaving a "trial of destruction like a powerful hurricane"? Someone somewhere is watching with keen eyes the potency of this virus but is pretending as if....

I hate to hear some animals being associated with this virus because how long have these animals been living in our forest and our interacting with them? So, why all of sudden they are exhibiting these deadly virus to our very health? Till our government stop accepting laboratories animals whose bodies contain some diseases unknown to us, we will always be exposed to such virus and blame some innocent animals for someones evil thoughts.

When HIV reared it ugly head, we were made to believe that it originated from the same monkeys etc. Hello....?

This should tell us that monkeys in the lab should not be allowed into our forest because they harbor something within their system that we are not aware of. Yes, I am being stupid here but ask yourself why always it is the monkey that is at the center of "attraction".

Ebola is a man-made virus and I am not ashamed of that because man is always thinking of something evil against his fellow man.

Kudos to the Catholic Church. God is a loving God and for any problem that confronts humanity God also grants men wisdom with which to deal with. It is unfortunate that health workers out of compassion may go out of their way to help infeccted people and end up catching the ebola virus themselves. But we need education and take preventive measures. Body contact must be reduced to the minimum in Churhes and all other gatherings. Delivery sessions must be done with the utmost care, hectic dancing, hugging and the use of church instruments by multiple persons such as microphones must also be carefully regulated. Use of "holy water" and other liquids must be avoide. Bathing of dead bodies, laying in state and wake keeping must also be watched carefully. There isthe need to fumugate all worship centers such as churches and mosques, use of disinfectants and sanitizers at worship times and meetings should be encouraged. No religious leader should claim invicibility and immunity of his members which is not based on sound preventive measures.
