What is the end of the debate? If TOR can refine the crude as an economical viable project , what are we waiting for?The consultant should come again with his fact and figures to justify the 200million retooling amount.

All this time, and this useless gov't is still at the day 1 conversation of should we refine our own fuel. We know need to reduce foreign spending, so whatever the cost, refining our own fuel is worthwhile so long as we get to save on the foreign exchange. It is corruption and greed to get our chop money from the purchase of Nigerian oil/gas that has left us here

Ghanaians at it again, Ghanaian cocoa was once tagged the best quality in the world, Ghana Airways DC 10 was once described the fastest aircraft in the world, Ghana's everything is the best in the world in eyes of Ghansians. Now Ghana's crude oil ftom jubilee oil field is of high grade TOR cannot refine without an upgrade, Uh,! Ghana.? What is wrong with our skewed mentality.? USA and the western world got hooked to Nigerian 'Bonny Lite Crude' for its high grade, TOR for many year had refined Nigerian crude without having to upgrade system, and now its time to seek the usual none existence glory which Ghana is known for, suddenly jubilee sweet crude becomes high grade unrefineable by TOR. Self deciet and celebration of mediocrity at its best. No wonder Nigerians describes Ghanaians as spineless human beings without courage, prefers always sitting in comfort zones to achieve what others have courageouly fought for. Too much empty self adorations.

If TOR can refine Ghana's crude oil, then it makes no sense exporting it and importing another type to refine. Even if TOR equipments will be upgraded at $200 million, Ghana stands to gain considering transport cost reductio ...

One can see clear attempts by the NDC gov't to project TOR as a piece of junk, eventually leading to it's sale to it's family and friends looting brigade.
TOR from it's days as AGIP has been refining crude and Ghana's crude oil from the Jubilee fields, is an established fact that it can be refined by TOR, and this is an emphatic statement.
Unfortunately, the Mahama NDC gov't is scheming and finding ways of parceling it out to it's family and friends looting brigade like portions of thick crust pizza, just as merchant bank, was made to kiss the canvass under very bizarre circumstances in a "maintenance of the status quo ante" involving Ibrahim Mahama-Tony Lithur-John Mahama.
TOR should be refining crude oil from the Jubilee fields and all attempts should be resisted by Ghanaians from the parceling out of TOR like pizza to unconscionable and nation-wrecking looters, bent on crippling the country via thievery.

Hello Ghanaians, this bunch of criminals calling themselve government in power are only decieving the populace so that they can sell the crude-oil and misappropriate the proceeds and also letting their cronies to import and distribute petroleum products.I was a process Technician at TOR when we process various types of crude-oil coming from any part of the world including Libyan Crude during the PNDC era. If that criminal calling himselve consultant will care to know, Ghana is on the same continental shelve with Nigeria and if TOR has been processing all of the BBQ from Nigeria then he should convince the populace how TOR cannot process the the Jubilee-crude since they are both sweet light crude?Instead of the Government to resource TOR to produce so as to help bring down the prices of the petroleum product look at what they saying,''empty barrels of poeple calling themselves Government''

I agree with the writer who said Jubilee is close to Bony Light and Brent and the TOR has processed these crudes for years. Sometimes even 100% Bony Light. "My people perish for lack of knowledge"

When did we develop the taste for already made items to the detriment of the nation and our currency. Iwhat will benefit over 200 workers had been left to go to waste whilst just a handful of people are making millions of dollars to bring in finished products at a cut throat price and pushing it down our throat by petroleum price increment. Greed has engulfed the nation and very soon we shall be importing fresh air and even sand. Why cant we do things by ourselves Ghana.
