What accident? You have no clue how often my skin crawls and my heard bleeds just watching how irresponsible Ghanaian adults are around children.
I observe every single day children roaming aimlessly in roadways, on farms , compounds and in market places, almost like wild animals left to roam freely. Often it amazes me that I am never around when casualties occur, but I am certain it happens all the time, we just never read about it. In the smaller towns and villages, life simply has to be as bad as the jungle.
Even these road side venders who bring infants to their work places and leave them to crawl in the dirt should be charged with child endangerment, but you people will all think that commonsense is only reserved for "white people". Carry a baby on your back unprotected from the suns ray, dust and harsh filthy environment in our cities should also be regarded as child endangerment. But all of you will say ignorant things such as "oh that is the way we were all brought up"...for the life of me I don't even know why we escaped the jungle and refuse to ditch our primitive past for God's Promised Land.
He should cry himself to death doing some jail time!!!

Reluctantly, I am inclined to think that this Taxi driver may be safer in Police Custody. Hopefully, he is under surveilance and would have no chance to harm himself.
A tragedy like this could render a person, second guessing himself, and lose his senses.
Hopefully, our police service is on top of this one and not maltreating him. The man is going to need counseling for a long, long, time.

Bad journalism.
Why couldn't the writer use "accidentally running over" instead of "killing"?
The use of the word "killing" conveys a different meaning.

Can these news reporters do some investigations about what they put forth for the general public to read? Some of these reports are childishly presented.

Those heartless induviduals call Ghana police will definately extort money from the poor man before they release him. They will even charge him for the paper on which they will write the police report.
