At times, I do ask myself whether our leaders do learn from the past. If we have walked this path before knowing the "pain" that comes with IMF bail out, why do we have to repeat the mistakes that brought us this far? Or do we have to allow the "White man" to come and tell us what we have to do to put the nation on a sound footing? Where are the so-called "experts" who are full of jargon and brag with their degrees such as PHDs etc? The educated Black man is nothing more than a wet blanket.

Good we have this forum to express our views. Ghana is a reflection of Africa problem. It cannot solve these economic problem without indusrialization. Otherwise importing everything will make you poor with no job creation for the youth. Job creation will come with indutrialization added value to the abundant resources that Ghana and other African Countries have. Nkrumah understood this and the west blocked his development plans. But the west couldn't block China form developing an industrial base for their economy. Set up a plan for development that the poulation can measure over a five year period and any leader that broke this trust shall pay with life in jail.

Industrialization can help us solve our problems immensely.
YOU ARE DAMN RIGHT HERE.
But the WEST didn't stop NKRUMAH from his development in industrialization.
They would have liked it,if we become self-reliant and not dependant on them.
NKRUMAH was ousted for bad governance in:
DICTATORSHIP,TOTALITARIAN RULE,DEVOID THE RULE OF LAW,HUMAN RIGHTS AND FREEDOM OF SPEECH.
He wanted to send Ghana into DICTATORSHIP.And being very famous in AFRICA,the whole continent might have bought into that.
Therefore the WEST,who believe in DEMOCRACY had to come in,to stop NKRUMAH from his totalitarian rule and the DICTATORSHIP FOR AFRICA,as a whole.
THAT'S ALL TO IT.
Remember, the COLD WAR,WAS IN THE OFTEN.
The RUSSIANS SUPPORTED NKRUMAH,but the WEST opposed.
So the friction was enough to knock NKRUMAH down.

A COMBINATION OF THREATS AND INTIMIDATION WAS USED TO FORCE GHANA TO ACCEPT AN IMF LOAN IN ORDER TO ALLOW THE USA TO USE THESE LOANS AS LEVERAGE TO FORCE US TO DO WHAT THEY WANT.External enemies coupled by an incompetent and corrupt Ghanaian government has made Ghana extremely vulnerable to foreign exploitation. When a country's government is riddled with corruption it is easy for foreign powers to support and encourage opposition against that government. Threats of exposure of corruption by individual government officials (foreign bank accounts etc) threats of sanctions and freezing of assets of individuals is usually enough to intimidate recalcitrant politicians and government officials into submission. Hence we see the Ghana government do a complete u-turn in its position regarding taking deadly IMF loans. THE SALUTARY LESSON HERE IS THIS: ANY GOVERNMENT RIDDLED WITH CORRUPTION IS VERY VULNERABLE TO COERCION AND MANIPULATION BY MALEVOLENT FOREIGN POWERS.CONVERSELY ONLY A GOVERNMENT MADE UP OF DEDICATED AND SCRUPULOUSLY HONEST INDIVIDUALS WITH A REAL LOVE FOR GHANA CAN WITHSTAND THESE DESTRUCTIVE MANIPULATIVE INTERVENTIONS FROM ABROAD
For those foolish enough to buy the IMF "stabilization" nonsense, including the "learned" Kwame Pianim I would recommend that they read the book by Perkins:
Confessions of an Economic Hit Man is a book written by John Perkins and published in 2004. It provides Perkins' account of his career with consulting firm Chas. T. Main in Boston. Before employment with the firm, he interviewed for a job with the National Security Agency (NSA). Perkins claims that this interview effectively constituted an independent screening which led to his subsequent hiring by Einar Greve,[1] a member of the firm (and alleged NSA liaison) to become a self-described "economic hit man".
According to Perkins, he began writing Confessions of an Economic Hit Man in the 1980s, but "threats or bribes always convinced [him] to stop."
According to his book, Perkins' function was to convince the political and financial leadership of underdeveloped countries to accept enormous development loans from institutions like the World Bank and USAID. Saddled with debts they could not hope to pay, those countries were forced to acquiesce to political pressure from the United States on a variety of issues. Perkins argues in his book that developing nations were effectively neutralized politically, had their wealth gaps driven wider and economies crippled in the long run. In this capacity Perkins recounts his meetings with some prominent individuals, including Graham Greene and Omar Torrijos. Perkins describes the role of an EHM as follows:
“
Economic hit men (EHMs) are highly paid professionals who cheat countries around the globe out of trillions of dollars. They funnel money from the World Bank, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), and other foreign "aid" organizations into the coffers of huge corporations and the pockets of a few wealthy families who control the planet's natural resources. Their tools included fraudulent financial reports, rigged elections, payoffs, extortion, sex, and murder. They play a game as old as empire, but one that has taken on new and terrifying dimensions during this time of globalization.
”
The epilogue to the 2006 edition provides a rebuttal to the current move by the G8 nations to forgive Third World debt. Perkins charges that the proposed conditions for this debt forgiveness require countries to privatise their health, education, electric, water and other public services. Those countries would also have to discontinue subsidies and trade restrictions that support local business, but accept the continued subsidization of certain G8 businesses by the US and other G8 countries, and the erection of trade barriers on imports that threaten G8 industries.
In the book, Perkins repeatedly denies the existence of a "conspiracy." Instead, Perkins carefully discusses the role of corporatocracy.[2] – November 4, 2004 interview
“
I was initially recruited while I was in business school back in the late sixties by the National Security Agency, the nation’s largest and least understood spy organization; but ultimately I worked for private corporations. The first real economic hit man was back in the early 1950s, Kermit Roosevelt, Jr., the grandson of Teddy, who overthrew the government of Iran, a democratically elected government, Mossadegh’s government who was Time‘s magazine person of the year; and he was so successful at doing this without any bloodshed—well, there was a little bloodshed, but no military intervention, just spending millions of dollars and replaced Mossadegh with the Shah of Iran. At that point, we understood that this idea of economic hit man was an extremely good one. We didn’t have to worry about the threat of war with Russia when we did it this way. The problem with that was that Roosevelt was a C.I.A. agent. He was a government employee. Had he been caught, we would have been in a lot of trouble. It would have been very embarrassing. So, at that point, the decision was made to use organizations like the C.I.A. and the N.S.A. to recruit potential economic hit men like me and then send us to work for private consulting companies, engineering firms, construction companies, so that if we were caught, there would be no connection with the government

The suppose expect is half right, IMF cripple John Mahama govt. EU only had what they wanted from ghana only a month ago when ECOWAS met in ghana. John Mahama and Hannah Tetteh on behalf of ghana sign a trade agreement with EU, this European Partnership Agreement sign by John Mahama and Hannah gives the EU forty years to control ghana trade. In doing that money has been promised and IMF dont care how the loan is spent all they want to control and high interest rates at will.
John Mahama is the only President to be proud by taking help from the nation to the people. Fuel prices has never been subsidize in any way. In ghana we have prices not subsided goods.
John Mahama is taking away our movements and our farming. Fuel high prices is the first think EU asked for. They want ghanaians to pay the same price of fuel in ghana like the EU. Profit and nothing else is IMF giving to the EU from africa. We produce oil and they want us to have the same price
John Mahama without shame sign the forty years agreement for EU to control and write all ghanaians policies.
Ghanaians are aready suffering and will continue to suffer. We know NPP will re-visit the agreement and amend all we dont like. First , ghana cant and will never have a partner. Our father fought for independence in trade, policies and managing the govt.
European Partnership Agreement is against what our fathers fought for and John Mahama and his govt has betray ghanaians and our forefathers who dead for our independence. What is independence of a country without free trade by that country. Why is our colonel masters taking over where the grand parent left. EU is coming back to ghana like they did before ghana had independence. They are coming to ghana to control it like their grand parent. First they control your trade and control your mind. Whether its good or bad in signing EPA we live to see.

Fear is the key. To get African leaders to do America's bidding the State Department's Dirty Tricks organisations, namely the NSA and CIA go ruthlessly to work. In most countries the USA already has infrastructure and networks in place that can be used if necessary to subvert and and stir up trouble for host countries. These are mostly innocent looking NGOs, think tanks whose budgets can be traced directly or indirectly back to the USA . Academic, Health and even some religious organisations have been infiltrated by these foreign intelligence organisations. Furthermore many of our influential media personalities, heads of professional bodies, journalist, corporate heads ,heads of important academic institutions, student leaders are sometimes recruited paid by these sinister foreign organisations.Political opposition leaders can come in useful and are often encouraged and funded by spy organisations to stir up trouble. All of these institutions are targeted and used by foreign intelligence organisations with access to generous budgets. THE USA MAY HAVE BEEN ANGERED BY THE TENDENCY OF THE CURRENT MAHAMA ADMINISTRATION TENDENCY TO CONTINUE TO TRADE AND DO BUSINESS WITH COUNTRIES LIKE CHINA NATURALLY AT THE EXPENSE OF A COUNTRY LIKE THE USA. THE TRUTH IS THAT COUNTRIES LIKE CHINA CONTINUE TO PRODUCE WHAT AFRICAN COUNTRIES AND OTHERS WANT.IN RETURN GHANA SUPPLIES THINGS CHINA NEEDS SUCH AS RAW MATERIALS. IN CONTRAST THE USA DOES NOT PRODUCE MUCH THAT A COUNTRY LIKE GHANA NEEDS OR WANTS. AMERICA THEREFORE SIMPLY RESORTS TO THREATS, COERCION AND ATTEMPTS TO BRING COUNTRIES UNDER ITS INFLUENCE BY OFFERING "LOANS" "DEVELOPMENT" AID INVARIABLY WITH STRINGS ATTACHED. A VERY IMPORTANT FACTOR WHICH HAS ENDERED THE CHINESE TO MANY DEVELOPING COUNTRIES IN AFRICA, ASIA AND ELSEWHERE IS THEIR EXCELLENT HABIT OF HELPING HOST NATIONS TO BUILD UP THEIR INFRASTRUCTURE SUCH AS ROADS ETC. DECADES AND DECADES OF CONTACT WITH WESTERN POWERS INCLUDING THE USA HAS NOT YIELDED SIMILAR RESULTS. IN SHORT WHILE OUR AMERICAN FRIENDS MAY SAY AND DO WHATEVER THEY LIKE THE TRUTH REMAINS THAT WESTERN COUNTRIES HAVE NOT BEEN OF AS MUCH USE TO AFRICA OR GHANA AS CHINA HAS BEEN.In an attempt to regain "lost ground" the State department in Washington is doing everything it can to lean heavily on African governments and where necessary even remove them (for example Muammar Gaddafi of Libya, who had massive trade with China).
FELLOW GHANAIANS JUDGE FOR YOURSELVES WHETHER ANY GOOD WILL COME OUT OF THIS SO-CALLED IMF LOAN. ALREADY I SEE CORPORATE AMERICAN VULTURES CIRCLING OVERHEAD AS GHANA IS BEING SLICED, DICED AND DISMEMBERED. EXPECT A FEEDING FRENZY AS THESE CORPORATE AND MULTINATIONAL PREDATORS DESCEND ON US. TO GIVE A CIVILISED APPEARANCE TO ALL OF THIS AFRICAN LEADERS ARE HAVING A "SUMMIT" WITH OBAMA IN WASHINGTON EVEN AS WE WRITE. PRAY. GHANAIANS PRAY AS NEVER BEFORE. PRAY THAT GHANA WILL BE ABLE TO ENDURE OR CAST OFF THE HEAVY YOKES ABOUT TO BE PLACED ON OUR NECKS.INFORMATION REVEALED HERE IS ALL PUBLICLY AVAILABLE AND SURPRISE SURPRISE FROM THE U.S.A. NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH (NBTT)CAN DELIVER US
