The excuse that he could not stop because it was a dual carriage does not hold water. Drivers even stop on the highway or motorway when accidents happen. I listened to an eye witnesses account on the Joy Tv 8.00pm news and according to the two they actually chased the car on a motor bike. At that time they did not know that the driver was the Deputy Regional Minister. They forced him to the police station and so cut out this crap and concocted kwaku anase story. Ghanaians are not fools. He should resign, or be sacked and prosecuted for causing death by dangerous driving/under the influence of alcohol.

Kofi, that's exactly what I thought as well. Let us pretend that he was driving on the inner-lane of the dual carriage way, like these ministers normally do, then one could not stop immediately if one should accidentally hit something. But, could instead, pull up to the outer-lane and then go off the service lane and stop. But, for him to have claimed that he was not having any choice than to drive farther to the next exit to negotiate a U-turn back into the same "freeway" to ascertain what he has previously hit, then it's simply a lie and quite unfortunate on his part.

Why you think what the so called eyewitness said was the truth but what the minister and the police said was a lie.
When we read the story yesterday there was nothing like he was forced to the police station.
In Ghana since this accident involves a government official people will do whatever they can to politicize it as has already started but let us forget that accident can happen to any of us and if you know Ghana, drive there before you will agree with me how careless these motorbike riders are in the country, very much annoying, some of us would have knocked down many if we had not been very careful.
Don't think Ghana is like UK,US or any other civilized country you know when it comes to accidents,in some areas in Ghana when you are involved in accident the best for you to leave and report to police especially when it involves pedestrians or these motorbike riders otherwise you may get killed before the police arrive, take note of that,I can list some those areas for you,who knows what would have happened to him had he stopped immediately perhaps coming from his girlfriend not having his bodyguard with him.
Don't buy everything from this so called eyewitness who will say what some like you want to hear.
Thank you.

Corney, your intellectual dishonesty is beyond pale. If this accident had involved an NPP functionary or official, I am very certain you would have found a different set of logics and arguments to vent your spleen and flail the person. You are entitled to your opinion, but please spare us the party propaganda. A person has died and accidents happen but to run away from the scene and call the police that you "think" you hit a donkey is just pure fucky lie and nonsense.
And just imagine this; the zombie Ghana police too, have let the guy off the hook by not immediately asking him to come to the station or go to his house to give him a breathalyzer test to establish his blood-alcohol level and content at the time of the accident. They took the bum at his word. In a way both you and the police have invented excuses for that idiot of a minister to escape justice. Even more painful and insulting is people like you trying very hard to rationalize the accident by blaming motor bikers and cyclists in Ghana. What about unscrupulous drivers? I doubt you will be talking like that if the people hit by the rogue minister were your relatives. It is not everything that should be seen through party lenses, okay? Shame!

Applying the Brakes would have brought him to a stop in less than 200meters away. And even if he thinks he can't walk back, he could have reversed to the accident scene.
The main thing wrong with him is the "Koby Disease" that attack Deputy Ministers, and as long as such people are not imprisoned, we will have to tolerate the crime against the poor

The Embassies squandered millions of dollars sent as dual citizenship fees and we hear some fool for a minister in charge of the funds sacked himself, therefore did not account for a penny.
All they had to do was put their signatures on a piece of paper and all parties are happy. Meaningless wickedness perpetrated by men and women of higher positions, (without integrity) and they get away with worse.
