I wonder why this NDC mafia/muslim group did not organize this demo during the Arab spring when they were killing our Akans in the tens of thousands all over . Why don't we see demos in front of the Libyan , Syrian , Morocco , Tunisia , Egypt and Saudi embassies ? why do they want to turn this country into another anti American / west fortress of stupidity. Did it ever cross their retarded minds that over half a million Akans live in Germany and over a million in the USA due the exodus caused by the wickedness and discrimination of the jj rawlings fake revolution? I will not mention the rest of the countries that accepted our people and gave them a chance to live comfortably yet they want to make propaganda war against these nations. Let them bus these fools to the embassy and i hope they have said their last goodbyes to their mothers as we will ambush them with our cutlasses and make sure they never go back home . we shall instruct our criminals and armed robbers to put their nefarious activities to good use and start targeting only ndc homes and their sympathizers . We shall make Ghana very unsafe for them as they have free accommodation , free food , free cars , free house boys and girls so can misbehave whenever they wake up. Americans despite some of their mischief with Monsanto and other foolishness are still our brothers and we will make sure all people who mean us well continue to feel welcome . Did it even cross the minds of these idiotic ndc that the person who wrote that tweet had every right since they were most likely half Akan and are disgusted by the careless irresponsible way the ndc are ruling ?

Talk about ignorance and political foolishness.
You NDC political and footsoldiers goons better get your heads out of your butts and face reality.
Was is the CIA/USA that came looting your nation's coffers and mismanaged your immense natural resources and enormous wealth?
Ghana is a very rich country even without outside help. So what the hell are you mumbling about?
Why can't we as Ghanaians call a spade a spade and put the blame where it belongs?
Thieves are running the country and stealing everything and anything they can lay their dirty hands on. Coupled with that is corruption and gross mismanagement of the economy. Square pegs in round holes in the ministries and all around the country. Political appointees holding sensitive posts they have no qualifications in.
'You reap what you sow', remember?
Now you want to blame the CIA/US because they stopped giving these clueless clowns handouts?
When the CIA sponsored the coup that took Nkrumah of blessed memory out of office, the country was not in such an economic turmoil. US was not giving out any handouts that were not put to their intended use.
Nkrumah was overthrown with US backing not because of corruption, stealing, mismanagement or anything along those lines but because US thought and believed Nkrumah was a communist. They also didn't buy into his vision of PAN AFRICANISM. Go back and check your facts before you even try to mention Nkrumah's governance of then GHANA and the current useless government all in the same vein. I'll bet Nkrumah must be turning in his grave and thowing up(VOMITTING)by comparing him to MAHAMA in some way.
Leave Nkrumah alone to rest in peace. His type of governance can never be reached by these useless 'wannabe' politicians and failed copycats.
Nkrumah was the real deal and even he was overthrown.
So why do you think that apart from NDC goons and foot soldiers like you, anyone else should care if these blockheads of leaders are forced out of office?
I personally don't care very much for African politicians because they are all thieves who steal from their country's riches for personal gains, mismanage their country's economy and run their countries into the ground.
And if you will be truthful to yourself, without keeping your NDC blinders on, you realize that that's exactly what is happening in Ghana.
Partisan politics is what has killed Ghana.
I don't mind if a dog is voted into office as the president as long as this dog knows what his job entails...that is putting the welfare of Ghana and Ghanaians first in all his policies. Good educational system...Access to a better health care system, good and well-maintained infrastructures like roads, railways....job creation for the masses and many more.
As you can see those things I mentioned had Nkrumah's name written all over them and Lord forbid, I don't mean to describe THE GREAT MAN as a "dog". I used the 'dog' caption figuratively.
Can you say the same about Mahama and his government?
I don't think so.
So pleeeeeaaaase...... spare us the buffoonery of mentioning Nkrumah's type rule and Mahama's type of rule as if they are/were at par. OK?
CIA can come and kick MAHAMA and his government's asses into oblivion and I could care less.
Ghana is what I care about and not individuals or poltical parties, especially if these individuals and political parties have stripped Ghana of her riches and her good name and left her in tatters and turned her into a beggar for alms.

The truth is always bitter. People always do not want to hear the truth. For how long will Ghanaians be used by these politicians for their selfish gains? Is Ghana getting better after 56 years of independence? It is not about the twitter that was sent from the US Embassy's account that matters. Is about bad governance. Is very sad that you will read stories like this from well-known media houses such as al-hAAJ. My question is, is the government doing well? We should not just ignorantly blame the US for everything that seems not going well with the Government of Ghana. Let us check our policies, leadership skills and commitments to our people. Who can breakdown the meaning of the "Better Ghana Agenda" policy or Vision of the Government in line with what is going on today in the country. So, the complaints about economic hardships coming from well-meaning Ghanaians, Chiefs, civil society organizations, etc. are all just propaganda messages against the government? Don't play such a negative game with Ghanaians.........Enough is enough.

Can these support organs of the govt give us the content and details of the supposed "Homegrown Policies"? And these "Homegrown Policies" that the govt and its supporters believe are a magic wand for Ghana's economic crisis, a model for Africa and an envy for the Western countries, are they already in action in Ghana? If so, when did the govt begin their implementation, before or after the Senchi conference?
And is it a part of these "Homegrown Policies" that they are dependent on foreign finance to succeed? If so, then, is it that though it's said charity begins at home, but, for these "Homegrown Policies" of Ghana, charity begins abroad? In other words, for these "Homegrown Policies", begging, or appealing to pity, is a policy instrument?
If in the "Homegrown Policies" begging is a policy instrument, then, that's hardly a model for Africa because Africans have been doing that since independence!
Finally, these "Homegrown Policies", where were they 'grown', in the NDC manifesto or in the Ghana cocoa industry?
Until and unless we're provided with the details of these "Homegrown Policies", we can't tell if, as the supporters of the govt are claiming, the Western countries are scheming to topple the Mahama-led govt because of these "Homegrown Policies"!

Afua,
If you think God is coming down here to fix your screwed up and mismanaged economy for you, then you got another thing coming.
What will you do if you were the US or any other developing partner and you keep pumping billions of dollars into Ghana but all the funds end up in politicians private bank accounts?
Will you still keep pumping money into Ghana? Use your head, lady.
The white people are no fools.
Ghana is a very wealthy country even without outside help. We got gold, diamonds, bauxite, manganese, timber, large tracts of good agricutural lands, rivers and sea which yield tons of fish for export and home consumption, etc.... not to mention oil.
So why are our political leaders mismanaging all these local resources and going to beg for alms?
All this stupid political propaganda is being used by the government to cover up all the stealing, thieving, corruption and the mismanagement of the economy and unfortunately, gullible fools like you and many others fall for it.
Have you ever heard of the saying "Heaven helps those who help themselves"?.
In other words, God will help you if you try to help yourself.
Our politicians are hardcore crooks in office to steal, steal and steal some more even when there's nothing left.
The US and other developing partners have caught on to the corruption of the government and that's why they have stopped helping.
So until we start helping ourselves by holding out leaders accountable, Ghana is going to flounder and there will be no end of the problems in sight.
So get up from your fat ass and join some of the demonstrations going on around the country to tell the government that 'enough is enough' and leave THE ALMIGHTY GOD out of this because HE did not cause this hardship for Ghana. Put it squarely on the shoulders of your corrupt politicians running the country..
Use your brain, lady. Don't let the thieves fool ya.

This is very smart journalism. I used not to like the Hajj paper but they got this one spot on.
People must realize that Ghana is in a transition from a lower income to a middle income level nation and these challenges are expected. But as the Prez said, if we sacrifice, things will turn around for the better. There are the signs that show the economy to be improving using the home grown policies. This, the West hates.
The WEST will not want this to happen so that they can continue to be enslaving us, siphoning us through brain drain.
If your economy is not good, you are forced to seek else where for greener pasture. You are then contributing to their economy in what ever situation you find yourself in; be it education, construction work, menial jobs, juanitors etc..
Think about this; if the economy were good, do you think one will even travel abroad to incur all the displeasure and human indignation?
Same thing happened to Nkrumah. Ghana's economy by then was on a flight and they had to cut things short by his exit.
Have you thought about Ghana producing cocoa and yet the best chocolate comes from Switzerland?
Take this simple economics anology; they buy a bag of cocoa at $100 and process into finished products and resell to us at $10 each the products.
Think about the profit. What about the factories that will provide employment for their people and their economies would be booming while Ghana's the source of the raw material is lamenting.
This where we need to wake up to the reality and change these negativity.

Had Mahama governed excellently, clamping down on corruption to the barest minimum, continuing infrastructural development from where Kufuor left off without partisan selectivity for continuation, and promoting vibrant Economic activities, especially in the private and Public partnerships, to sustain our Economic growth, we would not be having this discussion. The Americans would have had little to no reason to get in the President's face like alleged.
If any Government could do well Economically that reflects in the lives of its Citizens, little leverage would the Americans have to antagonize it. Even in extreme political environments, if the Economy is doing well and the Citizens are, voluntarily, not complaining about too much hardship, the only observable American intervention, if any at all, has tended to be mild persuasions for change. The Singaporean, S. Korean, Malaysian, Chinese and Indonesian experiences are examples to support that contention. Politically, these Nations never really practiced real Democracy, yet when they opened up their Economies and managed them well for Western Investments to thrive there, boosting the local Citizens livelihood with little to no fuss from them, the West, especially Americans, just let them be, and hardly complains about the politics in those areas.
They know that the daily livelihood of people intimately determines their fondness, or otherwise with their rulers. So, that is where they hit first or hardest, when the opportunity avails itself.
Long Live Ghana!!!

There is no choice in Ghana (true choice) as you have parties that are both subject to corruption and tribal tendencies which makes it easy for foreigners (political and investors) to influence. What Ghana needs is a third way where competent leadership is not aligned to political/tribal outlooks but competence and strategic planning.
Mahama should be the wake up call, but I fear he is not...see the comments from some on here still excusing him. I am an Nkrumahist at heart but how can I in good conscious support someone like Mahama for the sake of what.....with the sell of Merchant bank, incompetence, mismangement of the economy, blatant corruption, judgement debt nonsense.
If my family member did this I wouldn't even dare vote for him....how much less Mahama!

They are watching and will not waste their resources knowing well that it will be looted as usual by the NDC. So you and the president must stop the belly-acheing and stare reality in the face. You and your NDC have cheated Ghanians from Rawlings to MAhama for almost 30 yrs, and the develpment partners know it. You went to China for a loan, see the strings attached to that loan and tell me China is better than the West. Every thing should and must be ok if the NDC stop the looting. So stop blaming Development partners and clean your own dirty looting NDC party.

Wake up Ghanaians from your stupid and foolish sleep and smartly face the wicked and evil policies of the Americans.
This is the way they start spoiling nations, most times the citizens in question of the targeted nation would not be wise to react collectively due to their selfish political infightings and selfish village ambitions.
The the devil[USA] normally will overcome and destroy the economy in question of the targeted nation and possibly oneway or the other set political confusion among the political bodies and eventually the break down of the nation and its people.
Look what they did to Lybia today. Now the devil USA had divided the people there and left them with fights. The same in Iraq, leaving them with fighting going on unabatedly.
They did the same to Ghana starting from 1964 and succeded in 1966 by overthrowing Dr Kwame Nkrumah's government. The USA have done a lot of harm to many economies in the world especially when the USA cited you to be smart with your national policies, which they believe will not benefit them much.
They control many economic bodies, EU, World bank, IMF etc so they always manupulate them to punish the targeted nation's economy, in this way, Ghana as Mahama has smelled them. Our president is smart to smell that odour of the USA.
Ghanaians do not need to be divided over the political impoliteness of the action taken by the American Embassy against our president. It is sad to read this of their behavior towards our own.
