The few square pegs in round holes running the affairs of the nation do not represent the rest of the nation, so be careful how you describe the men and women of my dearest Ghana when you see my moniker around. It is extremely unacceptable to assume that only idiots remain in that country.

There is barely a grain of truth your impression, as the tribalism, calls for violent partisanship, witchcraft-accusations abounding so much here in Ghana, sometimes make me worry about my families future in this country. (Me and my "bebini'-family-members live in rural Ghana in the transitional Zone between "North" and "South", NOT behind high barbed walls).

So, I am highly invested in this country, and have nowhere to run to, possibly contrary to you possibly residing overseas.

I cannot bring my family to Germany legally, due to the hard new laws of both countries, so we are struggling with the Ghanaian issues here every day.

For that reason I feel genuinely happy seeing signs of hope.

How could anyone doubt about the smart and reasonable attitude of many in this country, e.g.:
- if you see a whole thread of commentators (~90%) applauding Sulley Muntari for trying to beat a senior official, and extolling him to do the same to politicians, if one sees a drowned girl being called a mermaid spirit by loads of Carlos-fans,
- if you see the perceived percentage of commentators here raving on about killing each-other and their clans over party affiliations (NPP/NDC...) or tribal generalisations.
-if you see loads of commentators spreading bloody hate against tribes and regions in their own country

I'm not too condescending, because I don't have to descend, as live in the midst of Ghanaian life already with my family, with less rights than even a normal Ghanaian or ECOWAS-member.

Whereas, might I guess?, your daddy has brought you to the US, where you enjoy education for a while, until you graciously decide to descend back to your Homecountry for a while to your adequately furnished residence waiting for you in Accra or another city, always with the option of jetting back to your expat-country once in a while, when it seems convenient to you or Ghana gets too hot.

Yes, in that case, it's seems quite easy to keep calm about happenings in far-away "beloved" countries.

If we had a ounce of accountability in our lives, we won't spend $9M for a week's stay in Brazil when the country is decaying around us. We don't produce 'shit' but we love the good things. Health service in the gutter, Education in shambles. Roads look like moon craters not to talk about water, electricity, dust and dirt all around us. We want the corrupt government to do everything but don't want to pay taxes. Our thinking is so warped people still believe Castro is a mermaid.
