Abstract
Aminatawallah (Amina) was given the H1IN1 influenza vaccine on November 23, 2009 and was treated with Tylenol (acetaminophen) on November 24th through 28th. She received an estimated dose of 1600 mg in 5 days and suffered a sudden cardiopulmonary arrest. She was pronounced dead at the Scarborough General Hospital at 1948 on November 28th. She was 5 years and 10 months of age.
Dr. John Carlisle performed the autopsy on November 30, 2009 and reported the following lesions: 1) The gross examination of Amina's brain showed that her brain was slightly swollen with gyral flattening and sulcal effacement; and 2) the microscopic examination of H & E stained tissue sections of Amina's organs revealed that she had moderate chronic inflammation of the laryngeal, tracheal, and bronchial mucosa; patchy alveolar hemorrhage and edema; cerebral edema, and scattered cortical hemorrhage in the thymus. She had a high potassium level of 16.0 mmol/L in vitreous fluid and her blood acetaminophen level was
