Two weeks ago as I was leaving Ghana I made this remark to myself. The KIA officals have listened to our complaints and acted upon it too. This is great news for the tourist industry and Ghana.

I am not being pessimistic but I doubt if the system will work under the auspices of Ghanaian supervision. Have we forgotten that machine to detect drugs at KIA was disabled just to let people get by. What about the meters that records oil in and out flows. It was tampered with.

If these cameras will work, they should be under the watchful eyes of some foreign experts else, we should forget it.

The government also has to refurbish the arrival hall. It is the location that gives a first impression on any foreigner entering the country for the first time. However it has been left in a dilapidated state which is very disgraceful.
It is really commendable the CCTVs are being installed to help curb criminal activities but I would have preferred the arrival hall being refurbished before CCTVs.
I do not think it is wise to have CCTVs on leaking roofs.
We should get our priorities right

Evidence is evidence, whether in public court or "specialised court", so the excuse that they want to protect the police witnesses from threats is hogwash.

Won't they still be threatened if they give evidence in that "specialised court"?

I have lived in the US for 12years and I do log a lot of miles yearly travelling for work. I have never heard of stealing at the airports like it's happening at KIA. Why do our leaders always try to justify problems by citing faulty and flawed statistics.

They say the gateway to west Africa but rather the gate way to corruption.
