GHANA HAS BEEN RAPED BY THESE NDC IDIOTS. WE DO NOT NEED ANY NATIONAL ECONOMIC FORUM, WE NEED A NATIONAL COURT OF JURISDICTION TO PUT MAHAMA AND HIS CABINET ON TRIAL. GHANA'S HOPELESS ECONOMIC SITUATION, TODAY, IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. NDC HAS OVER THE PAST 5 YEARS PRESIDED OVER THE BIGGEST RESOURCES IN OUR HISTORY INCLUDING CRUDE OIL & STEALTH TAXES. THEY HAVE ALSO CONTRACTED THE BIGGEST LOANS IN OUR HISTORY. IF THEY HAVE NOTHING TO SHOW FOR THIS AND THE ECONOMY IS IN SHAMBLES, THEN,THEY MUST BE PROSECUTED. THEY MUST GIVE THE MONEYS BACK TO THE TREASURY. WE DO NOT NEED ANY ECONOMIC FORUM. SET UP A COURT IMMEDIATELY. IT HAPPENED IN THAILAND RECENTLY, PRIME MINISTER YINGLUCK SHINAWATRA WAS REMOVED BY THE CONSTITUTIONAL COURT FOR ABUSING POWER. LOOK AT GHANA, EMBRAER PLANE SCANDAL, STX KOREA, US$20 BILLION NDC PARTY HQ., US$4 MILLION JUDGEMENT DEBT PAYMENT TO MRS. RAWLINGS, SUBAH, GYEEDA, WOYOMI, ISOFOTON, WATERVILLE, AFRICA AUTOMOBILE, CP, SADA, FORTIZ/MERCHANT BANK, AKONFEM AND A HOST OF OTHER DODGY JUDGEMENT DEBT PAYMENTS. BUYING VOTES WITH CASH, LAND CRUISERS & LAPTOPS JUST TO WIN ELECTIONS. WHY NDC?????? WHY??? OUR SUPREME COURT COULD NOT HELP BUT DESCRIBED IT AS "ALLIANCE TO CREATE, LOOT AND SHARE" WHAT A SHAME? ?? AND YOU CALLING GHANAIANS TO A WASTEFUL ECONOMIC FORUM. NDC, THE MONEY IS WITH YOU, GIVE IT BACK TO GHANA. NPP, I SALUTE YOUR COURAGE FOR NOT ATTENDING. NPP REMAIN SMART AND VIGILANT!!!!

Sometimes clever people turn out to be unclever when they tried to make sense on others statement. We can judge on anybody's statement for being not profound from different directions but when the value of that statement becomes essential and it's considered profoundly true then, that statement outweighed any possible comments that were used to criticised on it. For example, how long the goverment will provid the pads and what is the plan interms of sponsarship?;I am not poor and I can provid for myself because there are sources of income for myself;diverting responsibility from the parents which with time that will cause dependancy. However, the good point of the statement is "income generating activities".This is important because citizens must have their own income to rely on and you should also make "returns" if you spend money, expercially the government. You can't spend your 1dollar and have it again tomorrow to spend it. This is some of the reasons for the excerssive borrowings and our bad economy results. Can the girls attend school if that depending on the goverment turn to fail like the government failing the schools with chalks?

It is a foolish idea for any government to go for a loan only to buy sanitary pads for teenage girls. Only a fool will applaud such a stupid idea. What of the boys of the same age? Are you going to buy condoms for them or on the adverse, you will add tax to condoms? so do you see how stupid the idea is? If a president is providing something for the populace, it must be all inclusive. Everybody must enjoy it equally. A wise president will not be selective. That president will rather borrow money to provide water, electricity and other infrastructure of daily use or build roads, houses and so on so that the loan itself could be repaid by making money out of the constructed infrastructure. This jon Mamaha is a fool so everything he does is like he has no brains in his head. Only fools will support this loan agreement because they all have evil intensions.

Oheneba Asare, your contribution to this debate is absolutely pathetic, to say the least. What Otiko Djaba is highlighting is exactly what most Ghanaians are actually acquiescing to.
In that, it would be far proper for this dullard MAHAMA and his THIEVERY GOVERNMENT to start addressing the possibility of reviving our ailing NHIS, SCHOOL-FEEDING PROGRAME, as well as fighting CORRUPTION which have become the main canker of our society today.
You must also realise that girls only do have their period just once in a month, which lasts for as little as ONE WEEK. Therefore, it would be quite absurd for anyone to assume that parents would NOT be in a position to afford such few NHS to make their wards feel comfortable.
What this THIEVERY and CORRUPT GOVERNMENT under dullard MAHAMA is trying to do is to siphon monies through the LOAN for their own personal use.
Just few months after the 2008 Elections, the general Secretary of the NDc, Asiedu Nketia, told Ghanaians that their Party was too broke to appoint an Accountant to Audit their Books; which had been part of the rules as demanded by one of the Democratic Institutions in Ghana.
Today, we are all witnessing the same party, NDC unveiling their US$20 MILLION BUILDING. Something they had denied for a very long time.
Can you tell us where they got the MONEY to put up that building??
This NDC Government is as GUILTY AS SIN AS TO WHY MANY GHANAIANS ARE LIVING IN ABJECT POVERTY.
JUST WISE UP!!!

Let them make pads and give some women jobs! Women constitute half the human race! So, solve the problem with this solution: Go read the article 3 March 2014 in BBC World Service titled: "The Indian sanitary pad revolutionary" (Just cut and paste the article name in your search engine.) Invite Muruganatham to Ghana (he wants to expand to other countries). One of his relatively inexpensive machines can employ 10 women and make sanitary pads for 3,000 women at 1/3 the cost of buying pads from the multinationals. And, it's a woman to woman business. I think there is also a YouTube on Menstrual Man. Sanitary Pads are an important issue. Solving through World Bank loan not the solution. But, the problem definitely needs attention and not just for the poor who are intellectually gifted or economically poor, but socially connected. Keep problem-solving and GO READ AND WATCH. (I bet there are even some non poverty level females who would welcome the option of cheaper pads.) And, while we are on the topic, why not more toilets, even if they are pit toilets, with locks, solar lights (with a wire cage over the solar panel so it can't be easily stolen), and waterless hand soap? Hygiene needs to be encouraged and women need to feel safe in taking care of their intimate needs.

Why are Ghanaians over politicising this issue of sanitary pads? This can NEVER be a threat to ANY FATHER? Why will it have to be? Admittedly, this policy looks controversial nevertheless it's being overplayed such as to take the shine of it. As a fommer teacher in Ghana, I suspect that female students will now find it embarrasing to patronise what would have been an essentail item to enhance sanitation and cleanliness. This bruhala is uncalled for as the negativity alone can affect the children hence the rationale of the whole scheme.
No matter how you look at it, we realise the need for girls to have and use sanitary pads. What we need perhaps is a better means of distribution other than through schools . Also, do we have to import sanitary pads for children?
And, is this not a clever cover up by one or two selfish old roggers?

The other time Awuku was saying it was a demonic move and this time Otiko is also suggesting it I would a disgrace to fathers. If this is the kind of opposition we have in Ghana, then I am very much afraid that no other government can solve the problems of Ghana. At least suggest pragmatic solutions to problems instead of some of this useless tantrums. At least the money could be used to provide bore holes for schools in villages or provide toilet facilities for most schools who need such facilities. Both NPP and NDC politicians are bankrupt in ideas. The best NPP could do was to unnecessary change our money which has spelt doom for the nation. They now stand afar to blame NDC. Since that action, everything has skyrocketed.

How could the NDC come up with such a plot to steal Ghana's money for election 2016. It's so embarrassing to even think about it. Young and upcoming Ghanaian girls will now be mocked because our minds are now focused on the fact that they walk around with pads on their bottoms, how off putting. This has actually now put me off sex because I know that they wear cheap pads supplied by the government.
The other issue is that is the pad biodegradable? How are they going to be disposed off without causing further environmental degradation???
Last but not the least this should've been founded by something like a lottery fund or support by benevolent organisations and NOT a loan to purchase them. What a shame to Mahama and his weak administration.

When you have a government run by the wife of the president, a government whose pride is in giving all sensitive positions including ministerial ones to women, you will have a government who will take upon itself the responsibility to provide sanitary pads to women/girls (for the women ministers will also need some for their personal use). Very soon, such a government will determine how many pads a month different individual girls will need and , again, very soon the government will be deeply involved in "every aspect' of the girls' lives; the girls themselves will openly appear to be nothing but pad-wearing, cheap, miserable, creatures. Never before are girls being made to look so helpless and cheap, representing nothing but pads that the government must supply.
The use of pads used to be a private matter to girls. Now it's going to be a matter to be shared with one's seat mates, if not with everyone in the class of mixed students. The next thing we will see is that the president himself will be wearing his wife's pad for a tie.
What shameless, primitive, feminization education policy is that that cannot hold water anywhere in the world!

Ghanaian would like to know more about that
"Cooked" bogus so called research by Oxford from the gov't of Ghana,if any.
If it is the truth, the gov't of Ghana should have known better to ignored the report . B'cos most of these reports are cooked stories to portray the African in extreme Poverty to the extent that even "Amoassi"(sanitary pad)is not affordable.
But, because most officials are corrupt and therefore see the procurement and supply of the Sanitary pads,as avenues to enrich themselves at the expense of the Taxpayer, they refused to ignored such bizarre, disgusting, and nauseating "Amoase" (sanitary pad) report or ideology. And after all the noise about the Senchi economic growth accord, "Amoase"(sanitary pads) is what the Mahama NDC gov't could offer the adolescents and the nation.
The nation's adolescent School girls deserves better deal like free medical care, free bus ride, free after Sch studies(extra classes) free ICT training in Schools etc. That is the way forward.
Or,Sublet that part of the loan to private entrepreneur to establish or expand existing facility through the appropriate Institutions and the Bank to produce the pads in the Country,to give employment to people ,if possible.
"Amoase"gov't indeed !
