RAWLINGS, SUBAH, GYEEDA, WOYOMI, ISOFOTON, WATERVILLE, AFRICA AUTOMOBILE, CP, SADA, FORTIZ/MERCHANT BANK, AKONFEM AND A HOST OF OTHER DODGY JUDGEMENT DEBT PAYMENTS. I visited Ghana just recently having stayed in the US for more than twelve years and I noticed that foreign banks operating in Ghana are the cause of Cedi depreciation. This is a naked truth. Yes, we said we needed foreign investors, they came and now operating maximising exorbitant profits which are even bigger than our GDP. Their respective profits maximised in CEDIS must be taken to their home-countries. How do they take CEDIS into their home-countries? They convert these trillion CEDIS gained here into DOLLARS and other foreign-trade currencies. Therefore putting demand pressure on dollars, that is demand for dollars increases as these foreign banks need them. For example, a Nigerian Bank called UBA, its annual profit is about Gh45 Million, this amount must be taken by the owners Nigerians from Ghana to Nigeria. How can they take these cedi amount to Nigeria? They have to convert it into dollars. So having many cedis on Nigerians to demand for dollars. What happens to the value of the dollar? Surely it would go up as against the cedi. Pressure is being mounted on the dollar from the cedi. And note we have more than five Nigerian banks operating in the country. So you can imagine how much of millions of Ghana cedis as profits they have to convert into dollars yearly or monthly to take to Nigeria .

We have also a South African bank called Stanbic operating in the country earning more than GhC30 million annually in which such an amount must be converted into dollars to take to South Africa by the owners. I don't usually talk about South African businesses operating in other foreign countries as the whole country according to World Records is the most xenophobic country in the world, and yet the country tries to get rooms for operating her businesses in other countries. The least said about that country the better. However, let's take this Stanbic bank converting Cedis into dollars in order for the money to reach the bank owner's country,South Africa, annually, what pressure mounts on the dollar from cedisl. These foreign banks are making big profits in cedis converting into dollars monthly to weak our cedi as they rise in high demand for dollars. This is the cause of the cedi depreciation.

Remember how fine intellectuals like Professor Kwame was labeled "enemy of the revolution" because he offered an alternative to the useless JSS/SSS? Remember a fine one like Professor Ansah who was in the same "cell" as Kwame because he was critical of the excesses of Rawlings' madness. So, instead of telling intellectuals to save the country (of course, they are capable), the Bishop should be telling the revolutionaries to quit the political scene, first.

And if the whole Cabinet of your Government, including the President, see this as a priority to supply school girls with 'Tampons', instead of improving on School Feeding, NHIS, paying outstanding salaries of Teachers, etc....

That loan should rather be used to establish companies where the unemployed can get their daily bread. In fact, if I may ask, have the parents of these school girls complained that they cannot take care of their children? The notorious NDC should answer this? Any person or group of people who misuse the country's money foolishly will NEVER go unpunished. SHAMEFUL NDC. IS THAT THE WAY YOU ARE GOVERNING GHANA AFTER STEALING THE PEOPLE'S MANDATE? It's so sad that this generation of ours, tribal differences are also playing part in diminishing our dear mother land's development. Bad governance and policies are the cause of development in Ghana.Corruption is a normal vitamin in our society this days. I used to about passion about politic when I was growing up but later decided to be a human right activist and theologian so I can advocate radically for the injustice in our communities one day. Lack of vision my people have no bright future. President Mahama must wakeup and lead the people before they fall into a pit.

The Student(educated) majority of whom became the CEO's etc,and those who venture into politics and therefore leadership;a good number of them are those whom Sunk/Sink the nation because they are Corrupt.But that is not what the Teachers taught them to be and to do.
Therefore,the question is: in a Country where majority of the people comes out of School Stomach Centered to add more problems to existing ones,instead to resolve them,what do you expect ! So while few are honest and sincere to the letter,majority of the intellectuals are the known and unknown Corrupted thieves,whom Steal by the minute.
The leadership refused to punish those who Committed/Commit Corruption because they the leadership are the Masters in the Subject (stealing).
The few "clean" honest and sincere are overshadowed by the Corrupted majority.
And in most cases, because Birds of the same feathers flock together the position would be denied the person they know to be honest. So Bishop,forget about the so called Ghanaian intellectual because the majority thieves would not allow or give the few honest and sincere the chance to operate.
I think the Country should give audiences to people who exhibit Simple Common Sense, irrespective of their academic background rather than people with high academic degrees with expertise Stealing Sense.That is the way forward.

Ghana doesn't need intellectuals to better the conditions in the country because the Drs. professors and their likes are responsible for plight we are in. Ghana however needs nothing but a people who love their country enough to build it for now and posterity. Ghanaians need to be selfless and sincere to each other about how bad our situation is starting from the churches using the pulpit. The churches are killing the people by not teaching them honor to country and the churches are killing the people by competing with one and another. So I thought they serve the same God. An intellectual who does not love his country often loots and loots the country's monies without remorse. Also almost all the students who were the most intelligent are outside the country.. People like Avoka. The President and Bagbin were not even close to being the most intelligent kids in their classes or schools. The government has to find a way to work with some of the most talented people in the diaspora to help mother Ghana that has done so much for all of us.
