The Ghana Telecom was in the process of expanding the land line to serve businesses efficiently before it was sold to Vodafone but the company's appetite for more profit chose to solely concentrate on mobile telephony to the detriment of the business community .
Land line and business is like a hand and a glove.
In today's. Ghana business environment , faxing which is one of the major component of business operation is in fact a luxury. Why? Because land lines are not available and the existing ones are running on obsolete technology .
It is the right of every business to have modern land line. Cell phones are suppose to be complementary .

The Ghana fire services as a govt agency , runs on Ghana Telecom now Vodafone . Got it?
Using MTN or what ever to reach them when their Vodaphone tower or whatever is having problems won't solve the problem.

I dont think such reports do the image of Ghana any good. What has happened to the landlines? What about friends and relatives who live near the fire station offices? Driving to the station to inform them - too far? Phoning a radio station to broadcast? Ooooooooooh my motherland. What have all the graduates from Prempeh College, Navrongo Sec Sch, Achimota, GSTS(Takoradi) Opoku Ware, Kpando, St Peters, Yaa Asantewaa, Wesley Girls, done for Ghana with the science and Arts and Technical and Commercial knowledge that buttressed the Degrees and PhDs and Professors from the Universies in Ghana and worldwide?
