Better yet, the election of local MCE/DCE should be non-partisan so that the party in power does not sabotage the MCE?DCE who does not appear to support the party in power agenda. Appointment of MCE/DCE is the thing of the past and does not bring progress to the communities. The current practice is a source of corruption, and I am not surprise ACCRA and ASHANTI Region support the current practice because they are the heard quarters of corruption in Ghana.

According to a list published by Ghanaweb, Forbes Africa today released a list of richest people in Ghana. Unsurprisingly, all of the men who made the list are heavily involved in politics. What message is this telling us younger folks? Think about that for a second.
According to the list the Mahama family which comprises of the current president and his two brothers (Alfred and Ibrahim) are worth over $3Billion which will make them the richest family in Ghana!
We doubt the authenticity of the report since we all know nobody declare their asset in Ghana, it is hard to really know how much one is worth.

This is one of the ways the intellectuals have used to confuse the people in the thinking that whatever is been done by the state is not appropriate irrespective of its constitutional rightness. How can 1200 people decide for a population of over 22 million? Even not all the 1200 supports the view which has been publicized. The constitution says the president should nominate Ghanaians to man the districts but because of their parochial agenda the intellectuals who see their chances lost as result of strict implementation of the National Constitution go any length to pollute the minds of the populace with the myopic thinking of their likes . The intelligentsia should help to strengthen our state institutions but not to undermine them.
