DESPITE LEADING EUROPE BY FORMING THE O.A.U. BEFFORE THE EUROPEAN COMMON MARKET, THE LATTER HAS CHALKED SO MANY SUCCESSES.
TODAY, GOODS MOVE FREELY, WITHIN THE, NOW, E.U.. THE SAME CANNOT BE SAID OF THE A.U.
THE E.U. HAS A SINGLE CURRENCY, SUBSCRIBED TO BY MOST MEMBERS. THE A.U. HAS NOT COME ANYWHERE NEAR THAT (EVEN E.C.O.W.A.S. HAS NOT ACHIEVED A COMMON CURRENCY FOR WEST AFRICA).
THE E.U. HAS A CENTRAL BANK; THE A.U. HAS NONE.
THERE IS AN E.U. COURT; THE A.U. HAS NONE.
THERE IS FREE MOVEMENT OF WORKERS WITHIN THE E.U.; THE A.U. HAS NOT IMPLEMENTED ONE; AND SO ON.
THE IDEALS OF THE FOUNDING FATHERS' HAVE BEEN SQUANDERED AND THE A.U. IS AT THE MERCY OF THE WESTERN WORLD, CHEATING AFRICA OF ITS NATURAL RESOURCES.
THE A.U. IS NOTHING BUT A TALKING SHOP AND THEY SIMPLY GO THROUGH ANNUAL RITUALS AND CONCLUDE WITH MEANINGLESS COMMUNIQUES.

If Africans are moving away from aims that were enshrined in the formation of the OAU,now AU, due to individualism which was fed to us blindly by European neocolonialism, then why do we have to thrive to be like the Europeans? European individualism is in conflict with African values.
European way is not the only way or model out there to emulate.
This old guards no matter their education level in European centered education think backwards and that's exactly why we're marking time at the same place with nothing to show for.

That is because the EU focuses on institutional cooperation while the AU focuses on African unity. Until we realize that the focus should be in institutional cooperation, we cannot move forward.

On every single CFA the so-called francophones spend, 17% is taxed into the French economy and that's the clause in the pre agreement that led to their independence. When Guinea's Sekou Toure refused them, his economy was destroyed before handing over the country back to him with the excuse that they the French came and met nothing so therefore, they would leave nothing behind.
Mines were filled with concrete and electricity wires were pulled out and office furniture were destroyed. So Ghana came to aid Guinea.
Now these are the reasons ECOWAS can not have a single currency because out of the 16 members of ECOWAS, France's former colonies are 9.
17% tax on these poor folks for over 50 years is a lot of money that France need to be forced to regurgitate back to these folks but our leaders are NOT men enough to stand up to this parasite of a nation called France.
And year after year, we pretend as if we can move around this pre independence clause that allows this rape and have a common currency.
And France was in the lead to kill Gaddhafi who was ready to form an African development Bank backed by our own gold that would have given us the freedom that has been eluding us for the past 50 years.
Africa can not develop with us thinking Europeans are our development partners.
THAT'S A DREAM PERIOD.

Boko Haram militants are more stronger and well trained ,than the Nigerian army. If other African countries can not go in to help the weak Nigerian Army, the government of Nigeria should accept Boko Haram demands. These innocent girls are going through hell and the President was happily celebrating his daughter's birthday anniversary, distributing expensive phones .Nigeria is another country with stupid leaders just like her sister country Ghana.Leaders don't care for their citizens welfare, taxing the poor masses to their bones.Looting and milking the economy dry.God will not spare such greedy leaders. The painful aspect of the whole show is,people who have the masses at heart, are rejected at the polls.Electorates are lured with juicy but unfulfilled promises, money and even meals with Akpeteshie as appetite. God have mercy.

What has the A U achieve that Africans are celebrating its day. Crisis in Sudan, Egypt, Somalia, Mali, Chad and Nigeria to mention a few are ongoing and there are no solutions to resolve them. Give us a break.

Dear TT,it is indeed refreshing to know that there are people like you on the continent who have vision, wisdom, courage and the fortitude to advance the African aspiration of continental union.Nobody said it was going to be easy, pleasant and free of acrimony.Sure there will be the Malis and the Congos, our task is to keep our eyes on the price.Africa is going through a crisis and will continue to do so until we wise up.Remember Europe and some parts of world dealt with similar situations. This however, is no excuse by all means.Tte fact that the organization has existed and lasted for 51 years is an achievement.'Forward Ever,Backward Never',long live Nkrumah,Zik,Mboya,Lethuli,Toure,Keita,Sellasie,Kenyatta,Nyerere,Bella,Lumumba,Nasser,Nkomo,Thombo,Mandela and all those that struggled to bring us this far.Africa Must Unite!

Mugabe is a nationalist, no doubt, and, in as much as he wants the betterment of his country, he is also a patriot. But he is guilty of corrupt, nepotistic governance which combined with the subversion from the West nearly collapsed Zimbabwe. What did Mugabe do with the reoovered farmlands the Euro-settlers stole? He gave a juicy chunk to his wife and provided all the need inputs while the war veterans were left on their own, and suffered a collapse of farming productivity. Mugabe's nephew and brother are associated with a string of businesses much the same ways as Mahama is doing for his brother and the same way as Kufuor did for his children! Then there was the time, Mugabe would fly to London on a Zimbabwe Airlines jet and go shopping for his wife, parking the plane for a week and filling it with box after box for the wife who declared in an interview that she wore only Prada shoes because her feet were small. Sure!
This a good idea but no leader in Africa will listen to you.
