why are these NDC idiots crying , wailing and gnashing their teeth about the NPP not participating in their foolish propaganda gimmick labeled the economic waste of time chop money forum? Even their own duffuor and peprah or worthy businessmen like Sam Jonah and Ken Agyapong amongst others distanced themselves from that farce or hastily prepared event. did they not so long ago say they have a better agenda , action year, manifesto , no need for an all inclusive govt or tapping into the potentials of even the diaspora , no need for free education in the south too, no need to investigate the mysterious death of Mills , encouraging sodomy and homosexuality , govt still in first gear or now in reverse or completely stopped for lack of the fuel of ideas . In fact things are so bad that the long overdue reshuffle can not happen as all worthy , competent people with integrity refuse to participate in the mess of a govt or serve under and idiot of a pepeni president Mahama. Even schoolboy fifi kwetey admits the forum is unnecessary as our problems are all about NDC POLITICS and their incorrigible rouge socialism which further pushes our people to poverty . if you speak up and dont sing their hallelujah chorus of stupidity and hatred of the Akans you will be immediately be branded a drug baron , corrupt , arrogant , ashanti/akyem primitive ,madman , deranged , fool or idiot for pointing them in the right direction . how can there be a successful economic dialogue that will produce sustainable macroeconomics and plans based on the positive potentials of our people if all the major stakeholders including the diaspora or promoters of worthy projects not invited . if no one can dare to criticize the govt for fear of being victimized or persecuted by the ewes and northerners today ? The potential of the majority due to this tribal ndc politics is excluded from participating in anything so how do they expect the move things forward in reality have nothing to offer except corruption , hatred of the Akans and narrow mindedness? petition or not this govt is burdened by being illegitimate in the minds of all citizens ( as all still suspect election rigging and corruption of the judges ) so can never perform or have the true authority and support of the majority to produce a better future.one way or another they will be made to leave as their despicable acts have lead to all victims deeply despising them. PV is gone and all we can say is we feel relief that one more evil traitor of the Akans has gone to hell

You are right on point. The National economic forum was at it again with a 22 point communique that was short on specifics. All our governments have the same problem. I read the first two comments and was shocked waht was written. Ghanaians need to start seeing our problems from a national perspective and stop analyzing every problem from an NPP/NDC perspective. They are both culprits to the analysis put forth in this article.

When one decides on the specific action, thing, focus, goal, the now how about it,will be discerned.
When your heart decides the destination, the brain will design the map through which the execution will be done.
What I think is this:
NDC DOES NOT MAKE ANY SERIOUS DECISION TO DO ANYTHING FOR GHANA,BUT JUST OUT OF VAIN PROPAGANDA,TO SCORE CHEAP POINTS,FOR THEIR FUTURE GAINS,IN SUBSEQUENCE ELECTIONS.
Your script depicts what I have just said.
I wonder why the president knows the nation has no fund for what he has been promising, yet still, opens his mouth, every now and then,to make such promises,he can't honour?
He claims the economic problems,we are now facing are all temporal, but hardly does he knows, that temporal things can grow into permanency.
I give you a hip up,in all your script, and God bless you richly, for your time, effort and contribution to Ghana's affairs.
WE NEED SUCH GUYS LIKE YOU ON THIS WEB,ALWAYS.

Politics in Ghana is about winning and not about meaningful legacy; we have Nkrumah to show for legacy. Under Nkrumah most of Ghana's voters had love for the country even if under duress. That government was replaced by politics of the worse kind and today we have politicians who will sell everything Ghana has into the future to provide free things and or subsidized essentials just to get votes; its politics of deficit spending and the ill-informed and the uncultured tribal zealots in the NPP and NDC love every minute of the unprincipled and moral decay of the nation.
NPP loyalist and tribal zealot should remember that not even their beloved president J.A.Kufour could stand up to political clout of private transport operators in Ghana when he tried to bring about changes to the transportation industry by using economic principled touted by the NPP. Why would ex-President Kufour forgo a critical lesson that was and still needed in Ghana’s private transportation industry of competition, options and safety of the travelling public? He needed the vote rather than needed changes that could alienate a section of the voters.
What we are left with is a nation and political parties who will never do what needs to be done to solve our electricity problem, stops the deficit spending brought on by governments willing to subsidize everything for the public, start new projects that are unsustainable instead of cuts in wages and salaries of civil servants through attrition and staff reduction and or go after taxes with the zeal that is required to get to 95 percent of tax collection goals. Will civil servants, from teachers through the police and the military to the offices of parliament vote for a government that seek to reduce their numbers and cut their pay? Will private transport operators pay the full price of oil, petrol etc and adhere to civilized rules of the road and safety inspections? Would voters cross political party lines intertwined with tribal politics to vote for a party that create the foundation for a better future for the next government and generation? No.
The voters of today want the allusions of democracy by the very people who engineered the overthrow of Nkrumah but some who are or their children are now living comfortably in civilized western nations and enjoying systems that work while they look back and roll their eyes at the rest of us in Ghana even as they write articles to incite stupidity and turmoil in the Ghanaian society. It is an society of pretentious under educated and educated twits; some of our educated fools think that because some Western nations call Ghana a democratic nation means we have arrived even when we know no one in those civilized democratic nations would trade with Ghana for a day to live our kind of democratic horse manure.

OUR NATION STILL BOASTS OF PUBLIC AND MANY PRIVATE UNIVERSITIES,REASERCH INSTITUTIONS, GHANA ACADEMY OF SCIENCES, PROFESSORS, DEANS,HEADS OF FACULTIES,ENGINEERS,FELLOWS OF ROCKYFELLER AND RHODES SCHOLARS; AND CONTINUE TO WONDER, WHY WE HAVE STILL NOT STILL NOT LIVED IN EXPECTATION WITH ATTAINED DEGREES AND TITLES TO TRANSFORM THE NATION TO PROSPERITY.
HAS THE EXPANSION OF EDUCATION AND REARCH FACILITIES MADE A '''DENT''IN THE ECONOMIC ANB SOCIAL PROBLEMS, DIICULTIES AND CHALLENGES THE COUNTRY CONTINUE TO FACE.
HAS IT RESULTED IN THE REDUCTION OF MALNUTRITION, FOOD SECURITY, SHELTERNESS, DISEASE, ILLITERACY AND MASS POVERTY.
HAS IT MEANT EMPLOYMENR OPPORTUNITIES,INCOME AND GREATER OPPORTUNITY AND EQUALITY OF OPPORTUNITIES.
HAS THE CHARACTER OF DEVELOPMENT CONFORMED TO WHAT THE MASSES OR THE POPULATION REALLY WANTED.
ALTHOUGH, WE ARE OBLIGED TO LEARN FROM THE PAST, THESE POLITICAL ARGUMENTS CANNOT CONTINUE TO BE THE ANSWERS OF OUR ECONOMIC BACKWARDNESS AND UNDERDEVVELOPMENT.
THIS IS NOT THE EDUCATION AND TRAINING WE MUST BELIEVE IN THAT DWELLS '''ONLY AND ONLY''' IN THEORY AND WITHOUT CONCRETE ACTIONS TO BRING CHANGES,IMPROVEMEMNT AND DEVELOPMENT OF GHANA.
HOW LONG SHOULD WE ALLOW THIS TO GO ON.

Our problem in Ghana is that we have more talkers and very very few (if any)doers. The recent economic forum is no exception. People went there just to talk. Other than that somebody should tell me the new thing that came about after three days of talking. There was nothing new on the 22 wish list that has not been discussed to the point of exhaustion in Ghana. Every point on the wish list has been discussed before so why should we waste time and money to rehash something we already know. Iwant any of the participant to tell me one single point on the wish list which could be considered as something unique or new that has never been discussed in Ghana. I am prepared to send that person $500 for this.
The truth of the matter is that we do not have those who will sit down on their butts and work out the implementation plan and make sure that the vision is plucked from the sky to the ground. Otherwise do we need over 140 people to go to Senchi to tell us that we need a law to place a ceiling on what the central bank can borrow to the government based on the income the government generates within a particular period?OMG: Did we need 140 right thinking people to tell us that the recent bank of Ghana policy on the dollar is inimical to building local confidence in our banks and hence needs to be reversed? Ghana we are a big fat joke. We threw away this policy 30 years ago because it did not help us so why do we think that this time around it will help us? I think we are joking because if the 22 wish list are the only solutions we could come up with at Senchi then we are doomed. We are all waiting with baited breadth to see the detailed report to find out if it comes with clear implementation plan, how to source for the funding to execute the plan, the time frame for execution with associated milestones, the individual people to be held responsible for the execution and results of implementation etc. If we we do not get these, then I dare say that the Senchi declaration has been a big fat waste.

We have a serious problem understanding finace, complicated by corrupt minds averse to anything that has the semblance of truth and integrity. From the president to the lowest ranking Ghanain, nobody in Ghana whether paid or not can give you specifics on anything. In addition, they all entitled to goodies to be delivered by government no questions asked or input. Ghanaians are exceptionally lazy, when it comes to THINKING: their intellectuals are ridiculously empty and bankrupt in their thinking. Fellows after 3days of talking they could not identify their basic problems. It is scary the way we are of base and do not know what is wrong.

I share this opinion and would suggest we make it a criminal offence for any government to overspend more than 10% of the allotted budget. Running a country is akin to running a household; you can not spend what you do not possess. This is the bane of our troubles and would continue to be so until sorted out.
Whilst we are at it, do we not think the fourth republican constitution has outlived it usefulness?? NPP and NDC- the value is the same.

This is a nice Article. My own observation, that is from a layman`s point of view,is that,we lack accountability in our dealings in this Country. That is why a politician will stand on a platform and promise Heaven on Earth, even though he who is speaking knows very well that there is no way it can be possible. But he who, knows, nobody will call him one day to account for his dealings,so we just talk.
Then about discipline in our socirty, from the President to the down trotten, almost every Ghanaian lacks discipline,we lack financial discipline,we lack mental discipline, infact we lack everything, that has somthing to do with discipline. So we have turn to lies.
Like the writer rightly said,we plan nothing,we just say it,we shall do this,we shall do that without knowing how we are even going to go about it.
The President keeps on promising, yet,he knows we don`t have the financial means to undertake even one of the many promises he has been giving Ghanaians. And such lies make the people feel everything is alright in Ghana, whiles we all know it is not.
I will suggest,we should put party politics aside, and hold our politicians accountant, anybody who falls short of what,he/she promised the people must be held accountable.
We can`t keep on doing things like this, how long can it go well for us?
We have been doing the same thing for over 50years without any good results.
Can`t we change the way we do things for once?I can`t blame any political party for deceiving and disappointing the people,it is the fault of all of us,that we always have a non preforming Government. In a democracy,Governments are the reflection of society. We chosed them,so if we want them to preform,we must keep them on their toes.
If the rest of society are feeling the pich, why should be otherwise with people in Government?
Why should, about 10,000Government officials, live better than the rest of 25Million of us?
WE ARE STILL PAYING KUFFFOUR DEBTS
