We need a non partisan National Economic Agenda orchestrated by technocrats without partisan approach geared towards a more sustainable science backed policies. This will lead to strong private sector who would move the economy and with policies to prevent widening the gap between the poor and the rich!

Within barely eight months, a newly formed Economy Freedom Fighters were able to sell their idea to South Africans, drew massive crowd to their rallies, sold red berets and T shirts to raise money and won over ten seats into parliament. An impressive job for underdogs with no political infrastructures in place.
The CPP needs to stand from their lazy behind and hit the grass roots and school campuses to do a register drive and allow young people to drive it a simple message just as Kwame Nkrumah did when he came back with the style of Marcus Gavey style of organization.

first law of economics is supply and demand , second is never produce anything if there is no market for it . we have the market so we can industrialize sooner or later , hand it over freely to the Europeans no matter how well packaged and the future of our children are doomed. i dont see the Europeans offering the other benefits such as the freedom of movement and insisting on visa free entry into their countries. they are not offering half a trillion for infrastructural development and real assistance in bettering the standard of the people of west Africa . this is a war that will destroy any chances of self reliance and self development . see what they have done to our poultry , fish and beef industry . until we have people who understand the issues and the true hidden agendas and dangers of such a one sided agreement where the benefits are only for the Europeans we should not engage in any such devastating experiments . EPA is being pushed now because they are aware pepeni is an illigimate president , even now the video of the murder of atta mills is being circulted in private circles and one day soon he will be overthrown so he is rushing to put another yoke and burden on the people of Akan. this govt can only borrow and can not even secure investments of 30 billion dollars how do they expect to handle a multitrillion agreement which in reality denies your own people the right to develop their own industry. our industrial base is less than 3% by the way. lets not allow this foolishness to pass ,

The UP political gurus led by Dr.Danquah had the best and brightest ideas:democracy for political stability,capitalism to promote private enterprises and a mixed market economic system where the forces of supply and demand interact to fix the prices of goods and services with intervention through fiscal and monetary policies when appropriate.
It is undoubted that these ideas have guaranteed and continue to guarantee economic prosperity to the western world.
The unfortunate reversal of Ghana's fate by Dr.Nkrumah by the massive embrace of SOCIALISM and the jettisoning of time-tested and workable democratic principles by the CPP marked the beginning of Ghana's woes.So over the years,Ghana has been trying feverishly to disentangle herself from socialism and despotism, always imposed by hollow-minded military adventurists propped up by disgruntled university professors who have,by virtue of their attained and enviable social status, won the admiration of Ghanaians.
SOCIALISM does not work!In fact,it leads to apathy,ineptitude and poverty.
The high government salaries and allowances which is crushing John Mahama is as a result of the innumerable state this and state that albatross which the CPP created.
And then there is the periodic opposition of anti-democracy dictatorial governments whose origin is imputed to the CPP.
There is no country currently on our planet which has lifted herself from poverty without embracing the aforementioned laudable ideas:South Korea,Taiwan,Hong Kong.In fact,none of them developed without trade with the west,especially,the USA.China is flexing her muscles because of the huge foreign exchange reserves accumulated through the export of cheap and easily replaceable goods to the western world where purchasing power is unmatched.China is now the second largest economy after the USA,outpacing Japan.South Korea has an enviable GDP/capita.
The dilemma of John Mahama is how to thrash the bogus socialist mentality and accepting wholeheartedly the workable capitalist system.That will be tantamount to a political suicide:legitimizing the ideas of the NPP.

I have said it again and again that Nkrumaism (which could not even be defined by the CPP itself including the so-called Osagyefo himself) is dead and will never resurrect. The whole world has moved on from the state sponsored political/economic terrorism that Nkrumah unleashed on Ghanaians. Can't you see !

He had political opponents who were not playing a fair game and wanted his life. Remember Kurongugu and several attempts to assassinate him. CIA and other foreign governments were all were together with opposition get rid of him. He is human and needed to preserve himself so all opposition was seen as attempt of his life. The honorable thing for him to was to resign unfortunately he was overly ambitious and wanted to wield power no matter what power will do to him

Samiah makes a whole lot of sense more than many of your dead beat politicians. I don’t know if it is hate or envy because so far she has not stolen anything from anyone or country. She believes she can do a better job with Ghana and I have a feeling her heart is at the right place and that she is capable.

To Africans, change is always a bad thing. It is pardonable if what you people have against her is chemistry. Our country is steered towards a murky place and we could use a distraction. I know she is more than just a distraction but I am trying to be modest here.

I have come to understand one has to tip-toe when dealing with Ghanaians. We are dealing with people with fixes ideas on all issues. There is no room to share and or exchange ideas. Samiah is not a bad person; plus we are not being honest in terms of our interpretation of our history.

We tend to twist everything in favor of our birth rights, in other words, out parties and convictions. Show some maturity and humility for at this point, even stagnation could be good a thing for us. We are worse off than what stagnation entails.

Perception is far from the facts when people say that the private sector is the engine of growth. The fact is that both Britain,Japan, South Korea and U.S. still have a large state sector or state intervention in production, distribution and transport. It is a fact that the state was dominant in the economy of Britain, South Korea and Japan until the middle 1990s. Companies that are involved in Ghana's construction and railway sector from Brazil and China are all stat owned. Thus the slogan that the era of the state having the commanding highs of the economy is over is not true. The fact is that India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines and South Korea had one head of state for over 20 years, and in the case of India it is said to be the biggest democracy. The economy of Cuba which has a state controlled and owned economy is doing better than all the countries in the Caribbean. The second larges world economy now is China which in the whole is a state ownership of the major means of production, distribution and transportation.
