NDC inherited a growing economy from Kufour with good policies like NHIA,School feeding prog, Metro Mass Transport, Capitation grant, Leap, NYEP and N1 Highway , Accra-Ofankor,Nsawam-Suhum Highway etc. What has Mahama and NDC added to Kufour's transformationary policies from 2009 to 2014??. Dr. Bawumia said it long ago that Mahama is policyless and clueless. Mahama is bereft of ideas and focusless. Mahama said he will borrow more for development in the mist of huge fiscal deficit. Mahama will now listen to Dr. Bawumia and IMF?????????

This narrative destroys the purpose of the summit. While the country is trying to find solutions to the economic problems, the organizers have rather aggravated the situation by infusing luxury to the same old way of doing things, as if we are brainless. Shouldn't we use our brains to think out of the box by cutting cost as the starting point? We failed the first test of the summit and that may have given ample to those who oppose the meeting. Ghana needs to take radical steps such as free rent/accommodation and other luxuries to save funds. The lies must stop and face the realities of life.

Firstly, the National economic forum was initiated just for one purpose; as counterattack to Dr. Bawumia's lectures at Central College.
Secondly, as a party, they have their manifestos and it was based on these manifestos that the people elected or chose them to lead. So where are their manifestos on ECONOMY?
Thirdly, with Mahama telling everyone that he would not listen to the opposition (Yentie obia), why then do they call the opposition for their views on the economy.
Lastly, they are trying to use this platform to nullify the agenda of NPP. Already, they have taken NPP's free education policy. Everything that NPP would say at the forum will be used against them during the election. Just read what that stupid boy Haruna is saying about NPPs. So just imagine what Fiifi Kwartey will be saying after NPP people have given their views on Economy and how it will help the Economy.
We actually did Mahama say over there? Did he not go there to defend his poor record on the economy? WSo why would he listen to anyone if he believes that his record is good.

The NPP should stay away from the "SO CALLED" economic forum because it's undoubtedly aimed at stealing your good economic ideas. Don't forget that they've already stolen Nana Addo's free high school education policy, a policy the National Destruction Company (NDC) vehemently opposed during the 2012 presidential campaign. The challenge for African countries is that after the colonial masters have left our elite took over their estates and emulated their life style. The writings of Fanon in the late 60s is what is haunting us.
I have followed the discourse on the national economic forum with those participating and those boycotting and rightful be it each has a right to pursue its own agenda. The common denominator irrespective, if it is NDC, NPP, CPP, etc - is that they are all elitist in thinking and even those who came under the fake assumption of revolutionaries under AFRC and PNDC have metamorphosed into elites.
The elitist mentality is to support their interest and not that of the nation. This mentality is imbedded in the colonialist mentality and invariably in capitalist systems. However, in the capitalist system you have industrialist and entrepreneurs who drive the system to the good of the nation and at the same time making their profit.
In the African context and the Ghanaian setting, the so called revolutionaries parading as elites after they have destroyed indigenous the industrialists like Siaw Tata Brewery, Kowusu Motors, BT Mensah, Apppenteng Mensah etc, are fooling the ordinary Ghanaian who unfortunately votes on faulty lines to keep them in place to support their interest to the detriment of the ordinary Ghanaian. The fact that we have a Government that preaches "made in Ghana" products goes to the Senchi resort which is owned by an international entity and even the teak wood for the ceilings coming from South Africa questions our intelligence as a people and a nation - Here I say, Franz Fanon is revisited in his famous book the Wretched of the Earth and ironically the cover of the later editions of this book has a picture of wretched beggar in Accra. Do you need to reside in an expensive facility to formulate sound economic policies? Note the major technology companies were created in garages. To expose the delegates to the hardships of the ordinary Ghanaian an alternative location like a boarding institution would have cemented the seriousness to cut cost. Those who are attending the forum are nouveau elites and to be candid if the origins of a political party was to destroy indigenous industrialist and entrepreneurs how doe they formulate a policy. This is a good disguise to take on the conditions to be attached to IMF support and workers be aware when your job is on the line in the next 6-12 months.
As I sit in the luxury of my office over looking a beautiful scenery I cry for my beloved Ghana, because I've been elitised and my university education was funded by poor cocoa farmers just as most of my northern brothers who have become elites and don't visit their home towns. I look forward to a day when an independent candidate with the integrity and the vision of Kwame Nkrumah, the foresight of Busia and the self reliance of Kutu Acheampong combined will lead our nation. Let's be frank how do you expect leaders who have not created business, opportunities and self-made initiatives apart from being civil servants to draw up policies. We have a long way to go but the path is going to be longer under the current circumstances.

We would worry so much about the cost, if the Yentie Obia government of JDM could do something truly transformation with the opportunity of a National Economic Forum but alas with even that there are adequate signs of failure. The first was the poor preparation and communication preceding the dialogue. Normally a process of consensus building begins with the preparation of Options Papers clearly spelling out alternative paths for coming out of a crisis. Government provides the lead by preparing these papers and invites other stakeholders to provide assessments or alternatives in advance of the event. This is synthesized into a concept note that is distributed to all invitees in advance and provision is made for others to request accreditation based on the alternative ideas or papers they submit for consideration. Then independent facilitators are selected to moderate sessions and these are brought into Plenary for discussion. A technical team is commissioned to put this together coherently and another Forum is called to review and approve the details. Some it will take two or three forums to come up with a broad-based non-partisan consensus. A hurriedly arranged Forum, with any technical papers circulated for analysis prior to the forum, makes this a brainstorming session where government is the only well informed party prepared for the debate. Another rubber-stamping costly talk-shop at the expense of the tax payer.

This kind of mathematics blows out the evil in the article. The author says there are 300 people participating yet the hotel has "more than 80 rooms and suites". If the hotel has just 80 rooms and suites (ignore the more than)how do the 300 people fit in the luxury he is describing? Hotel room numbers are usually specific so just adding "more than" does not change the number. I am sure if the NPP were participating, their delegates will enjoy the luxury. Poor man always suffers so be it. This article will not change anything. Even Ghana's golden Jubilee celebrations came to pass with the toilets still to come but Tarzan is still going free and hosting his take on TV. The presidential palace by whatever name cost an amount we are yet to know but Kojo Mpiani is still free. WITH SADA AND MAHAMA AS PRESIDENT, THE NORTH HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO SHOWCASE THE STUFF IT IS MADE UP OF. BUT WHAT IS THE BALANCE SHEET? CORRUPTION, INCOMPETENCE, INEPTITUDE, PROPAGANDA, CLUELESSNESS, IMPUNITY AND GROWING POVERTY. THE SIGNS OF THESE FAILURES WE FAILED TO SEE WHEN WE HAD THE INFLUX OF KAYAYEI FROM THE NORTH TO THE SOUTH A FEW YEARS AGO. IT MEANT THAT, EDUCATED NORTHERNERS WERE NOT PUTTING THEIR SKILLS AT THE DISPOSAL OF THE ORDINARY NORTHERNERS. THEY ONLY USE POVERTY OF THE NORTH AS A POLITICAL CASE THEY ARE NEVER COMMITTED TO RESOLVE.
THE WA HOSPITAL HAS BEEN IN NEED OF DOCTORS BUT DOCTORS TRAINED FROM THAT REGION AND OTHERS HAVE refused postings there. Why? Why?
THE NORTH MUST ACCOUNT TO US FOR THE COST OF FREE EDUCATION THEY HAVE ENJOYED ALL THESE YEARS. MAHAMA'S LEADERSHIP IS SO UNKIND TO POVERTY, EMPLOYMENT GENERATION AND PROGRESS.LOOK AT ASONGTABA, RLG, MAHAMA'BROTHER, GYEEDA AND ALL THE OTHER TROUBLES GENERATED BY EDUCATED NORTHERNS. @Gabby Smith, I think it is an error. It should be $300.00. If you read, it says "ranges from $3000.00 to $560" and normally the smaller amount is mentioned first which is not the case here. I hope this helps.

If the centre is free on these 4 days then it doesn't make sense..I heard that Akua Donkor took his driver too..On another note so Felix lied to us in the face / ear (because it was said on Asempa radio) when he said only 147 people have been invited? Is it truely 300 or 400 people as media is reporting? Eii Ghana!
