A party of stealers, who collaborate with foreign companies to create,loot and share our resources through such scandals as the Willowbrook scandal, ISOFOTON scandal,African Automobile scandal,Quality Grain scandal, Gulfstream Jet scandal,Construction Pioneers scandal,SCANCEM scandal,Mabel & Johnson scandal,Embraer 190 aircrafts scandal e.t.c.

Is the Okyenhene not aware of these scandals which cost Maaame/Daaavi Ghana billions of dollars ?

How can Ghanaians own their country when we have professional gangsters stealing millions and using their booty and agbadza propaganda to con foolsoldiers and ignorant starving Ghanaians for their votes

Folks, the SADA, GYEEDA, Subah,Maputo scandal and Woyome scandals have not been included in the above because those millions of dollars stolen by NDC stealers had very little to do with foreigners.

We choose leaders who are motivated only to have huge bank accounts hidden in Swiss banks or under false names in New Zealand and South Africa and so on and so off, not thinking about using the natural resources which the LORD has bless us with; to industrialise the nations which would in turn create jobs and wealth for their nations.....their lazy attitude see them choosing the easy way,selling our natural resources for peanuts to foreigners,whilst they wait for jobs to created by foreign investors.

The leaders in Africa today,by their attitude and ability to be humiliated by foreigners they deal with,create an impression that they are in the 18th century,when our kings were being used as stooges in the indirect rule system. If our governments are not corrupt, and do not sell their conscience to the devil, Ghana will be Heaven on Earth. How do we sell Nsawam cannery and end up importing the products that were made there? Is it a BIG SHAME that political opponents are seen as political enemies and governments in power will not listen to what they say, even if that is good? Bawumia's presentation made a lot of sense but some NDC barons who want to CHOP BIG so long as they remain in power will have none of that.
Also, so long as we continue to put squared pegs in round holes because of nepotism, political correctness, and other unreasonable reasons, Ghana shall be where we are.

We can hardly even establish more financial institution and rather trying now to allow Religious banks in Ghana with religious strings attached.
I have been following the search for the missen Malaysian aircraft and was sad to realize that not a single aircraft or naval ship involved is from Africa and for that matter Ghana.
Our political leaders are so corrupt and always determined to stay in power so they accept any bait not recognizing their ramifications for the country. Until we stop putting politics ahead of Ghana and tackle corruption at High places, Ghana will even get worse. We need to revamp our educational system to meet current needs. BROFO KESE does not develop technology that is needed in this modern world.

For over four years I have consistently written at forums and newsletters across the country about the need to train machinists, CNC Programmers, designers and manufacturing engineers. I boldly offered to help and challenged the Government optimistically over its pessimism against success. I clearly drew a simple plan - 1.Select a product to manufacture or turn into shape ( shaft, wheels, brake shoes, just look around you, anything you see can be manufactured or turned into shape)

2. Find Land large enough to contain a manufacturing plant of about thirty machines

3. Look for about four hundred college students and high school graduates willing to learn manufacturing process and teach them CNC programming, machine operation, design, and quality control.

4. Buy CNC Milling and Turning Machines, Tools, Manual Lathes and CNC Drilling Machines, Grinders, Mig Welding Machines and Soldering stencils, Fork lifts and Band Saws for cutting metals for production.

5.Shop for materials - either steel,aluminum, plastic, cast iron any material designated for a type of product to be manufactured.

6. Get a Bank to finance a manufacturing project - be it a car, car spare parts, computer assembly parts, shafts, door knobs, scisors or common needles.

7. Put them to work !!

Mahama are you there ? I bet none of them even reads these suggestions. They are busy planning how best they can dupe us and blame it on one another - probably on Kuffuor or poor NPP.

The actions of Rawlings and remnants of his mode of thought bequeathed on NDC, has set Ghana back at least 20 years. I say that because in/action is a product of one's thought.

Ghana's problem is unnecessary red tape deliberately reeled by people in Government and a lack of creativity. The more bureaucracy you introduce, the more money these lazy paper pushers make, with detrimental effects on the business community. Our retention based education system doesn't facilitate creativity. If you schooled in Ghana, you will agree with me that even our educators were no different. A lot of the teachers never presented material based on their original understanding, so students who never towed the line were deemed unintelligent and cast aside by the system. To me a very good first degree should be enough to do a lot. If you desire specialization then you master and later profess with authority with a Phd.

We are not going to get out of this rut without creativity and a like for things Ghanaians. Charity begins at home they say, so do not expect someone with no knowledge of your environment to solve your problems better than you will.

The baffling thing is that the Okyehehe's people are the most virulent anti-Nkrumahists in Ghana, second only to the Ashantihene's people. Therefore, the Okyehene should start this change in Ghana by starting a pro-Nkrumah educational campaign among his people. It is only then shall we take him serious else he sounds ridiculous as long as he sides with his people against Nkrumah yet he makes such pronouncement. All the Chief is saying is that_ we must be able to explore our own resources by educating Ghanaians in technology and partnering with well intended foreign companies.

He is telling us to cut our colonial umbilical cord and be masters of our own destiny. Does he not deserve kudos for such empowering foresight?

With such comments, I bet Okyenhene Amoatia Ofori Panin II will beat Barack Obama for the presidency of not even the United States, but the soon to come new Federation of African Countries.

nana I appreciate your concern but I think the only group in Ghana all the time annexing our country to their friends in the west are the busia danquah tradition. from the days of Kwame Nkrumah they never stopped pushing the west to continue colonixing us. they teamed up with the west and ousted our first president leading to what we are experiencing in our country now. our ashanti gold had been handed over to the whites just like that and somebody was knighted by the queen of England for a work well done. such characters take delight in going to sit down and have tea with the queen of English who fools them into wearing bow and tie and feel that they are more important than other tribes. these white monkeys have imported into our country all kinds of sicknesses including all kinds of cancer and what not which were not known in our country in the past.

All one needs is to prepare oneself to compete on the international arena instead of choosing the lazy way out of clamouring for protectionist concept. Have you heard of somebody talking about free education when there are millions of unemployed educated youth roaming the street? Ghana has the human capital to transform itself into a first class modern country but not to sadly swell the number of employed graduates. Politicians must also stop stealing from the people and mortgaging out the country at donkomi prices. Take a second look at the Oil contracts negotiated by our politicians and you will understand what I am saying. I like your call for Ghanaians to own these things but they will have to own them by investments and not by political interference or any other sinister means. The world is now Investment driven. U make lost of sense. Honestly the biggest problem of gh leaders in general is that most don't think long term. We had a chance to own our own oil/gas but we sold it for cheap profit to foreigners. I think we can start by improving our electricity problems. If we can provide 24/7 electricity, we will be able to provide the ripe environment for production of goods through factories. This will enable us to grow our GDP through exporting to other african countries. Only then will we be able to buy back our resources we sold to foreigners through buying shares of those companies. So mr. Chief, we can indeed buy back our resources, it will take proper planning and strategy to buy it back. I believe investing in our electricity and fixing it will be the catalyst to our development. There is a trend that we should adapt. every developed country has 24/7 electricity and every underdeveloped country lacks basic 24/7 electricity. So we want to join th developed world we can at least start by fixing our electricity problems. I really hope Ghanaians will push this onto those they elect. If I was president, that would be my number 1 priority, followed by a criminal database system and good roads. These three things will be the key to our development. They care not what Ghana stands to gain from your investment, their interest lies solely on how much money they can get from you. HON. Chief, you see we are not even self-confident I support your call but I think we should first get the toxic of incompetence out within the individual Ghanaian and we shall automatically get on track with any problem we have in our dear country. Why don't the pastor who preaches prosperity, curses, politics and hatred in their Churches educate their member's to rather believe in God, trust in themselves as well as think first of Ghana and not politics and whites (someone else)?

Let's keep the revolution on, let's believe in ourselves and not anyone, Ghana, can be ok if we stop believing in politicians who don't even think of building the country together but want their opponent fail so they take over the destroyed economy so they can also take advantage of such situation to deepen the problems we already have.

If any politician wants to rule, they must show they are competent even in opposition by providing solutions and not to criticize because criticism is not a solution but a way to condemn and take advantage of the same situation.

Those were the ideals that prompted the legendary Dr. Kwame Nkrumah to embark on his 7-Year National Development Plan which was aborted by the duo of Kotoka and Afrifa at the behest of the CIA. It was a golden opportunity lost but there is still hope for improvement if our current and future leaders do their homework well.

Nana, don't look far to understand the situation as a choice unfortunately made for Ghanaians by your own JB Danquah and Co., and cemented in recent years by former President Kuffuor, of whom George Bush was so proud, and congratulated for "delivering" Ghana to US and the rest of the West, "as he promised".
But Nana, I admire your courage to vindicate Nkrumah, the wisest and most visionary leader Ghana and Africa has ever produced, who believed that the African was capable of managing his own affairs, and began laying the foundation for it to happen until he was betrayed, set up to fail and delivered to US and the West. Nkrumah is often vilified for his logical response to the machinations of his detractors and nation wreckers, but shorn of this, Ghana was going to be owned by Ghanaians, and this meant the gold, the oil and all our resources will be controlled by us. The factories he set up were meant to enable us to be self-sufficient and not be import-dependent as we are today; something the served, and continues to serve the interests of US and the West, thanks to the JB Danquahs, Busias, Harleys, Kotokas and Afrifas. We are paying the price for the ingenuity of these men who opposed Nkrumah's wise counselling, and deprived us of owning our Ghana and its resources.
I admire your courage for not only vindicating Nkrumah but also, to say the least, mildly indicting those who opposed his wise leadership and made sure that he fell prey to their machinations.
Above all I admire your courage to raise the issue of owning Ghana, and by so doing, draw every Ghanaian’s attention, though not in many words, to the fact that the idea of owning Ghana and indeed Africa may be Nkrumahist but not his property; and even if it was his property he would not turn in his grave even if it was brought to fruition by his adversaries. It is the right thing to do!
The idea of owning Ghana, and Africa, for that matter, should be a non-partisan issue, and all political parties must commit to it in their manifestoes and actions. It could be a path to nurturing patriotism, and perhaps minimising corruption, at least the kind that benefits foreigners at the expense of Ghanaians if it is an evil we have to live with.
